Still shaken by Donald Trump's triumph, Republican and conservative foes of the billionaire can still cause headaches for the party's presumptive presidential nominee at this summer's GOP convention. But their options are shrinking by the day.
With Trump's last two rivals Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich abandoning their campaigns, there's no remaining talk of snatching the nomination away from him with a contested, multi-ballot battle when Republican delegates gather in Cleveland.
Instead, anti-Trump forces are trying to figure out how to use the GOP meetings in July to keep him from reshaping the party and its guiding principles, perhaps with fights over the platform or even his vice presidential pick.

Shaken, not stirred.
Good.
They have no guiding principles.
The tears of their lamentation are like honey upon my tongue.
They STILL refuse to give up
If they had fought this hard against Odumbass they would not be in this position
The Trumpinator is going to make RINO’s an endangered species. LOL!
The choice this election is very simple: Either one actually likes the idea of America and what a prosperous future for that entails. Or one desires to surrender history to international social justice fascism.
You like the 1st choice? Go Trump. For the 2nd, one has Hillary.
Getting Trump is enact Conservative policy will be easier than getting Hillary to do so. If you want Trump to be more Conservative, hold his feet to the fire on the platform at the convention. And vote for Conservatives in the Congress.
People complaining about specific details of Trumps hypothetical policies and how Conservative they are or aren’t, dont understand what the role of the presidency means (hintits about ideas/ideology, not policy details). Leave the details to policy wonks.
What is best in life?
Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women.
I like that...”Odumbass”
One of the “Conan” movies, right?
The elites better get in line or suffer the consequences. It’s NOT ABOUT THEM,
IT’S ABOUT THE SUPREME COURT, STUPID!!!
Trump is gonna always have to fight the right and the left. It's the nature of this hostile takeovers, those with the most to lose will go down to the bitter end.
They’re hoping to get him to move, even a little bit, on anything, so they don’t look like total losers. He’s living in their heads rent free.
Correct. A GOPer whose candidate isn’t the nominee only has to consider if they want Hillary selecting 3 SCOTUS judges and hundreds of federal Circuit judges, District judges and magistrates.
No brainer - Trump is the only correct answer.
Trump should contact “Goodfellas” to straighten out these guys.
“... the party and its guiding principles, perhaps with fights over the platform...”
When has the GOPe pansies EVER followed “guiding principles”???
What exactly IS the “establishment elites” platform???
My advise to you bunch of elitists is to tighten your belts...
You are going to have a rough ride if you don’t change your attitude......
There is a blog story out that saw on FB that said that Cruz will be coming out and announcing that he will be endorsing and campaigning with Trump. If true the NeverTrump movement will be virtually destroyed as I bet he will make a compelling case to his supporters to do so.
