The sister of former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day OConnor was killed in a car accident Saturday in Arizona.
Pima County sheriffs spokesman Ryan Inglett said Ann Day, 77, suffered fatal injuries after her vehicle was struck by two other cars near Tucson. Day was a former Arizona Republican state senator and Pima County supervisor.
Day was driving eastbound on Ina Road around 7:40 a.m. when an oncoming car crossed the median. Days vehicle was struck head-on, Inglett said. A truck traveling behind Day then rear-ended her. She was alone in the vehicle.
Paramedics transported Day to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The other two drivers, both male, were hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Inglett said the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.

Was an illegal driving the other auto?
No names of the ones who crossed the road?
Doubtless it was a "Tucson man."
I heard someone last week say we are one terrorist attack away from a Trump presidency. We could be one car accident away as well! The MSM will not report if driver is here legally or not anymore!
Many years ago (80’s IIRC) an elderly couple was driving to Seattle and drove past a state highway mowing crew. A 3’ long blade broke off the mower, flew out and hit the wife killing her instantly. I remember a motorcycle death caused by a car hitting a light pole, and the pole fell across Northwest Hwy in Dallas striking the lady sitting on the back seat of the bike. No other deaths, just the back rider of the bike.
One truly never knows when their time is up.
My first thought, too.
It was 7:40am on a Saturday morning. My guess is white driver texting. But that’s based on the area. Ina Road is also where Gabby Giffords’ shooting occurred on a Saturday morning.
Wow, it was really her time to go.
Probably an illegal.
Likely driving without a valid drivers license or insurance.
When my daughter was 17, her car was hit by a car driven by a Spanish speaking women. Luckily it was a very minor accident, my daughter was not hurt.
The women did not have a drivers license or insurance. My daughter was shaken and young and naive. She got the woman's phone number and address from another document she had. They turned out to be phony.
Our insurance company could do nothing.
Sure looks like it. Anyway condolences to Sandra Day O’Connor
From the article:
“the 23-year-old driver of the car that hit Day head-on is suspected of impaired driving. Nanos said he was seen driving erratically at excessive speeds.”
My guess is white driver on drugs or drunk.
Tucson has the worst drivers, the worst roads, and especially the scariest intersections in Arizona. I love going down there to visit—it’s otherwise a nice town with nice people and lots of things to do— but driving around there is an adventure— and not a good adventure either. May this lady rest in peace.
If you are right, we will know soon enough. If it is Julio from mexico, they will try to cover it up.
Jarrad Barnes, looks to be an Anglo kid
RIP.
Probably was an illegal. The driver was already drunk or high at 7:00 am. He probably had prior DUI arrests, too.
She was at an event celebrating the 100th anniversary of the acceptance of AZ into the Union.
My Grandma was born in Arizona Territory, and thus she was a semi-rock star that day.
I used my baby to negotiate all the armed security dudes and move in close. There was a lot of security, because that RINO doosh Jan Brewer was there too. I did not know she was a RINO doosh at that time, though, and I in error allowed her to hold my baby.
Anyway, if I was an assassin I will definitely incorporate a baby into my disguise. Doors just open when you hold a cute baby!
