One of the major planks in Donald Trump’s campaign platform, if not the top priority, has been a stalwart insistence that voluntary commerce and trade with other countries weakens America’s economy and costs American jobs. Moreover, he insists that he knows best how to manage it all in the best interests of America. Indeed, Trump has not only proposed slapping a 45 percent tariff on all goods made in China, and massive tariffs on other countries like Japan and Mexico, but he repeatedly declares that he will personally impose punitive taxes on Ford Motor Company if it follows through with plans to build a manufacturing plant in Mexico. He has also threatened punitive penalties against Apple Inc. if it continues making iPhones in China. But Levin also hates pro-Cruz, Glenn Beck.
Trump is reintroducing a time old and successful theory of trade called protectionism. Levin has it backwards because Trump is no globalist, he is a protectionist.

Rush keeps getting lumped in with Beck and Levin for no good reason this election season. I listen to all three hours daily at work. He has admitted to being friends with both Cruz and Trump, and golfing buddies with Trump. He has praised both for their strengths and criticized both for their weaknesses, and I think has done a good job in this crazy primary. Anyone who thinks Rush has been a Beck or Levin during this season is simply completely wrong. To put it bluntly, Levin has gone crazy, and Beck has gone crazier. Rush has just been Rush.

Levin is being totally dishonest.
Trump is not proposing a 40% tariff on imports.
He is proposing threatening tariffs on imports from countries that do not allow the US equal access to their markets.
The is a difference between thretening and acting without first negotiating.
Levin knows that. He is beginning to sound like Glenn Beck.

No, I just said it was an interesting list. I was not aware he had that many products, or where they were made. I just knew some of his shirts were made in Mexico.
Wouldn't be surprised to hear later that he is losing money on his TV venture already. I thought the amount of money he was begging for was absurd, and most normal people weren't going to subscribe to it. Glenn Beck pulled it off for only a little while but ruined it due to over spending, and he was only successful because he had developed a huge following on Fox before pulling out.
A shame Beck ruined all that goodwill. It began with his "if you support Newt Gingrich, you're a racist" crap. Then escalated with his deceptive and improper behavior with Sarah Palin. And, finally, he's totally ruined now after this election.
Anyway, how can Levin, who is just a radio show guy and not even the best one, going to succeed with a TV program asking for that much money? These fookin morons should just setup a show on You Tube. There are guys on You Tube right now who are making millions of dollars using a free freaking platform. But these brain dead morons want to setup their own internet TV like dumb dumbs. Even Church Militant, Michael Voris's outfit, started off with YouTube and still posts a lot of its material on YouTube, enabling them to bring in a profit and expand their stuff.
By definition anyone proposing a tariff IS NOT a globalist. Globalists hate tariffs like vampires hate Holy water.
Especially someone who proposes to tariff his own products.

Unfortunately, Levin happens to be on the right side of this issue. Trump is a smart guy. He surely knows that huge tariffs on imports would be an economic disaster. He is not going to make that kind of mistake. Wiser heads, hired by Trump, will get him squared away.
