I so agree with you. I loved eating in those small local diners and best of all reading the local newspaper.
Where else would you learn about “Miss Garlic” or “Miss cherry blossom” or that the little league team is going to the County Championships or “Fred’s Plumbing” won the Wed Men’s Commercial Bowling League for the 3rd time. Obits were lengthy and sincere and wedding announcements fun, too.
And always home-made local berry pie!!!!

I know Trump really doesn’t get to spend a lot of time with the home town people at his rallies but some how I fee, the after Rally walks, through the crowd have been very emotional for him.
I’ve heard his voice with emotion several times when talking about the people at the past Rallies. Donald has a BIG HEART!
I knew that a lot of swans migrated to Skagit County, but couldn’t remember where.
I’ve not been to Lynden, but heard it was a Dutch community and very charming.
