The 'official' Cruz campaign is out of money... But his Super Pacs are still flush with cash... Cruz and Ryan's intent from the beginning was IF need be, have the US House of Representative 'select' the president. This is why Ryan is always seen with that smirk on his face when asked about anything to do with 2016 presidential campaign. Presently the objective is to deny Trump the magic number 1237 delegates... Contested convention... 1976 Ford - Reagan...
It doesnt make sense to me. Does he think he can get more delegates by pretending to drop out? I can see him continuing to raise money to pay off debts, but why go after delegates when his suspension means he wont likely get very many more?

Okay, but it seems to me the best way to achieve that objective was to stay in the race, even if they couldn’t afford to actively campaign. They would still have volunteers, Cruz and Kasich supporters would go to the poles and vote thinking they were still in the race.
Having officially dropped out, it seems like the odds are much higher that Trump walks away with the primary votes, and has even more delegates bound to him than he would have had they stayed in.
I just don’t see how announcing that the campaign is suspended helps if the objective is still to deny Trump 1237. Then again, I never thought of Cruz as a master strategist.
