SHe sounds like a wonderful and loyal religious women.
A Muslim woman is suing Long Beach police, saying an officer forcibly removed her religious headscarf during an arrest.
The federal civil rights lawsuit was filed Friday on behalf of Kirsty Powell, who was stopped last May as she and her husband drove home.
Powell says she was taken into custody on warrants and at the police station, a male officer forcibly removed her headscarf — the hijab — despite requests for a female officer.
Powell says in violation of her religious strictures, she was forced to remain exposed overnight in view of other male officers and dozens of inmates.
The warrants were later cleared.
Police say they're aware of the lawsuit and a statement may be issued later
One of these days, some Muslim nut will hang herself in her cell using a headscarf... and the police will be guilty then, too.
I thought this had already been settled.

During the arrest - so, yeah, sorry that your religious practice was being interrupted BY YOU BEING ARRESTED.
While I wish little more power to the courts, I wish CONGRESS would direct judges to assign contempt charges for idiots who file IDIOTIC lawsuits such as this one.
You don’t want your headscarf removed, THEN DON’T GET ARRESTED.

She should be thankful...Removing her scarf by removing her head would be a more moslem-like procedure.

If she is such a good Mohammedan, what is she doing walking on the streets without a male relative? Why is she not at home where she belongs (according to their book)?
