The media is working hard to convince you that they caught Ted Cruz in a lie about working with John Boehner. But they are the ones lying, as usual.
During an interview hosted by Stanford in Government (SIG) and the Stanford Speakers Bureau, former House Speaker John Boehner referred to presidential candidate Ted Cruz as Lucifer in the flesh. He continued, I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.
But Boehner did not work with Ted Cruz. Boehner only worked against Cruz as he golfed with Trump, who Boehner referred to as his texting buddy.
The comments are reminiscent of other nasty names Boehner has used to describe the constant anti-establishment thorn in his side. Last year, the failed Speaker referred to Cruz as a jackass, and still another time as a false prophet.
As reported at TrevorLoudon.com, Cruz responded in part by saying that he never worked with Boehner, and hes only met him two or three times. During a 2014 interview at cincinnati.com, Boehner confirmed that he has not talked to [Cruz] since he was elected:
On Cruz, who has given Boehner heartburn by encouraging House conservatives to block moderate proposals floated by Boehners team: Ive not talked to him since hes been elected to the Senate in 2012.
During Thursdays press conference, Cruz said that he did attempt to reach out to Boehner, but was rebuffed:
Ive never had any substantive conversation with John Boehner in any respect, said Cruz, but he did comment that during the government shutdown, he and Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee reached out to Boehner.
I offered to come over and work with the speaker, said Cruz. I asked him, can we resolve this and actually get something meaningful done to stop the disaster that is Obamacare? John Boehners response was I have no interest in talking to you. What possibly could be accomplished by having a conversation? No, I will not meet.
Watch the entire press conference here.
The mainstream media was very excited to report that Ted Cruz was likely lying about not having a substantive conversation with Boehner. They point to an interview Boehner had on Leno as reported at the Washington Post, where Boehner said this:
Ted Cruz used to be my attorney a long time ago. A good guy. I dont always agree with him, but hes a good guy.
Cruzs involvement in the case was also discussed in 1998 at The Seattle Times, where Cruz made a statement and was referred to as an attorney for Boehner.
Boehner did not speak of any relationship with Cruz, but still, the media was very excited to slam Cruz in any way possible: CBS breathlessly reported: Cruzs claim that hes never spoken more than fifty words to Boehner is a dubious one NBC dramatically reported that although Cruz said that he has barely spoken with Boehner, the two men have a past. The former speaker had actually used Cruzs considerable legal talents in a rare court fight among lawmakers. In fact, Ted Cruz was once John Boehners lawyer. What is really disturbing about the NBC piece is that something closer to the truth is buried in the article: Sources close to Boehner say he and Cruz had met during the lawsuit but likely never had contact after Cruz arrived on Capitol Hill in 2013. So the article goes from Ted Cruz was once John Boehners lawyer to he [Boehner] and Cruz had met during the lawsuit? The headline at Fox News was Cruz claims he doesnt know Boehner but was his lawyer. In an article titled Ted Cruz, Weve Caught You in a Lie, Gawker quotes Cruz as saying Ive never worked with John Boehner Ive never known the man. The article continues to condescendingly declare, But Ted, you were his lawyer.
Cruz campaign spokeswoman Catherine Frazier told MailOnline Cruz was a junior associate assigned to the Boehner case. Frazier said,
His [Cruzs] involvement in it [Boehners case] didnt extend beyond assisting with briefs and attending meetings with Boehners staff. He doesnt recall personally interacting with Boehner during that time.
Cruzlim baloney is particularly easy to spot. He was Boner’s lawyer and he lied about it. Why these people defend his inability to be honest on the simplest of things is beyond me.

Achtung: this site is an ad trap, but it states:
“Renee Nal is a co-founder of TavernKeepers.com, a news and political commentary site founded by former Glenn Beck interns.”
Another flopsweating, gaslighting, Cruz/Beck stormtrooper in high dudgeon because people might draw an inference that her guy is an insider GOP-e tool getting cover from his paymasters.
Why would we think that?
Just walk away Renee.
Its gotten worse than the children at DU. Really enjoyed the Conservative discussion over the last decade.
Kind of hard to dispute that...
Thanks.
What did you hope to accomplish by posting this article?
Cruz indeed was Boehner’s lawyer in the wiretapping case against James McDermott. That is a matter of public record.
Foot. Smokin’. Stop shootin’
I have clients who don’t know me at all, including ones I have barely spoken to. Boehner is garbage. One of our rulers who thinks he can say anything he wants. He is a LIAR and corrupt to the core.
Looks as if Ted Cruz was making statements to the press on behalf of John Boehner in 1998, i.e., before he even ran for the Senate.
But Ted Cruz, Boehners attorney, said the fund-raising letter demonstrates nothing and highlights the weakness of McDermotts defense. Boehner alleges that McDermott gave the taped phone call - which Republicans argue did not violate any promise made by Gingrich - to The New York Times, The Atlanta Journal and Roll Call, a semiweekly congressional newspaper.
“The fund-raising letter is much ado about nothing,” Cruz said. “Congressman McDermott has consistently attempted to delay the litigation and drive up the expense. It is reasonably expected that Congressman Boehner will use the means at his disposal to raise the funds to pursue this lawsuit.”

So many of these public figures are these days.
Cruz has been lying his ass off lately. Gross exaggeration = Lie in my book.
Attacking Trump supporters is going too far. Cruz has proven he’s nothing but an ideological zealot.
Amen.
“But, to say he was Boehners lawyer is really a huge stretch of reality.”
You are dead wrong. Ted Cruz represented Boehner in that case before the public, and here is the proof saying, “But Ted Cruz, Boehner’s attorney, said. . . .”, as quoted directly from the Seattle Times article at the time:
But Ted Cruz, Boehner’s attorney, said the fund-raising letter demonstrates nothing and highlights the weakness of McDermott’s defense. Boehner alleges that McDermott gave the taped phone call - which Republicans argue did not violate any promise made by Gingrich - to The New York Times, The Atlanta Journal and Roll Call, a semiweekly congressional newspaper.

Cruz was his lawyer in 1998.
It makes no difference to me, but lying about it is counterproductive.
Cruz has become counterproductive to the citizens desires.
If he wants to continue to have a political future he should accept that Republican voters want Trump.
A contested convetion will only elect Hillary.
Even if he finagles the nomination, he will not be President.
Cruz to Hannity last night:
“I was a junior lawyer. My boss (Mike Carvin) was hired to be [Boehner’s] lawyer,” Cruz explained. “So I worked on the case. I worked on some appellate briefs. I don’t know that I ever met him. We haven’t said 50 words to each other in our lives. I was a baby lawyer a couple years out of law school working on editing some briefs and helping write them. But I don’t know the man.”
Rafael Cruz was on national TV; CBS News saying that he met John Boehner in passing 2 or 3 times. Rafael did not say that he worked as his legal team
This article you posted is a lie. Just because you like the words in th title doesn’t make it true.
And the article has its own thread here:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3425910/posts
And it’s been refuted many times over.
“Its gotten worse than the children at DU. Really enjoyed the Conservative discussion over the last decade.”

Kandy Atz #35. “Yes, the little punk grabbed her. Please dont play the Trump game and deny that he ever touched her or knew her. That crap is getting old. Accept responsibility, apologize, and move on - that is what men of character would do.”
So Freepers are like “DU children” now? Because we have the effrontery to vet your guy, while Trump has been turned inside-out by Uniparty news goons?
That tired moaning from you Cruzers—that’s what’s getting old, especially when you lay your mouth on FR:
`Obama never met Blagojevech. Corey Lewandowski is a beast. Cruz didn’t do any legal work for Boehner. Trump caused the rioting ... ‘
Go to DU if you want to spout that malicious, false tripe.
As well as a concern troll, I’m thinking maybe you’re just another toxic, sour grapes, Texas Cruzer drama queen.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Well, the same article was posted yesterday and Gumpa is here trying to dispute it again today.
It isn’t hard at all for Grumpa to post the same discredited crap repeatedly.
Right Gumpa?
There it is.
That has been the Cruz approach on every subject this last year.
They simply toss it on the forum over and over, and it gets shot down over and over.
Sadly, some folks buy into it. Even if a small few do, they spread it.
It’s propaganda! Nothing but.
Someone coming back to post this level of untruth should get their walking papers IMO.
