How creative and hilarious!
Chicago has some world-class potholes. They also have something equally as dangerous - the elevated manhole covers.
(snicker snicker right?)
No joke. These things stick up 1-2 feet above the pavement like a pipe -and they are NOT MARKED! No reflectors, nothing. Imagine hitting one of those!

In my town, they’ll fill a pothole, and make it into a big bump! Just as bad!

IIRC, Jackson Miss. has a SOLID non-white government and so was probably paying more attention to BLM and “White Privilege” matters.

“Their version of a speed bump?”
You do know that the first people to complain about speed bumps and speed humps were the police and firefighters, right? ;-)

I have lived in this neighborhood for 31 years. A block from me is a potential sinkhole. The city has been ‘filling’ it for 30 years then it sinks again.
A policeman stopped me one day to ask why I crossed the yellow line on the street. I told him, “I have lived here for 30 years. That ‘fix’ in the street, which is now ‘sunk’ again, is going to be a big sinkhole someday. I do not want to be over it when it happens.”
He simply smiled and walked away. ;-)

It seems the DPW doesn’t know its pothole from a hole in the ground.

ROFL! That reminds me of the Toronto Dead Raccoon Memorial that grew until the animal control officer finally got around to removing it:

Didn’t know that. Not surprised. They are bad enough when you are only barely moving and can’t imagine going over one when in pursuit or racing to a fire. Still support their use in parking lots and residential neighborhoods. We have a lot of people that go roaring down our street in spite of the fact that there are lots of kids playing, riding bikes, etc. and signs posted everywhere. Published speed limit is 20 mph. Finally got local police to monitor on a somewhat regular basis and start issuing tickets. The boulevard with 45 mph is only one block over - could never figure out why speeders don’t always use that street.
