Or just another in a long running series of anecdotal evidence regarding the Lefts hatred of Western Civilization?
If it’s not in the NY Times, Washington Post or on CNN it’s like it doesn’t exist.
You could write a dozen or more books on this subject, which I think has already been done.
But nobody seems to care. Nobody beyond the “Crazy Right-wing” nuts at FR or a handful of similar sites. A minority of College Conservatives on these campuses are dealing with this crap literally everyday. Virtually every day they see something that in our minds should garner national attention but it gets ignored or never gains the media traction that it should.
Talk about disheartening, fighting a losing battle for the hearts and minds of a populace that cares more about Beyonces’ latest video seems to be a lost cause. And who could blame them for giving up?

This has been going on for years and years and we continue to lose ground in this war.
Someone once said that you can’t fix “Stupid”. Well, we keep trying as we should but how in the world do you/we deal with those that are willfully stupid? People that reject critical or even logical thinking and literally are bullying the masses to close their minds?
They are immune to logic and their own hypocrisy. It simply doesn’t register with them. The only thing that seems to offend them is to suggest even slightly, that morality isn’t subjective. All reinforced by their “Public” feelings and the public pressure of a P.C. world and their fear of being ostracized if they say the Emperor has no clothes.
It’s not allowed and therefore these kids and many adults in both political parties have made an unconscious choice to just get along.
The useful idiots of our brave new world have long crested the tipping point.
There is nothing that can be done. Nothing short of a full fledged crisis that impacts the lives of every citizen. But our government has been extremely successful at removing/deferring any and all potential crisis’s from peoples lives.

I would suggest that the patriotic kids at Stanford renew their initiative, but that they run a true educational campaign to support it, the next time. The self-flagelation may be fine for masochistic neurotics, I cannot believe that it is really what most normal American youth really desire.
I loathe Leftists that still breath. The other kind I am infinitely fond of however.
I had to chuckle a little when I read that story for the first time. What it boils down to is students who don’t understand a topic voting against being taught that topic based on standards that they derive from the topic they imperfectly understand and don’t want to be taught.

Eliminate history and you can eliminate anything/anyone.
The simple fact is that these are spoiled children who for their entire lives have benefited from the progress of Western Civilization. Everything that they own was created by others. The prosperity that allows them their leisure time is a result of work and innovations by Americans for the last two centuries.
But somehow, these leftists have taught them to reflexively hate America and to show contempt for the society that they leech off.
The attack on Western civilization comes from the lack of standards. It comes from the lack of understanding that personal freedom only works when their is personal responsibility.
They do not understand how if the beliefs they are taught by leftist universities were ever put into practice we would be living in mud huts without heat or electricity.
Our life expectancy would be about 30 and 70% of our children would die before the age of 5.

Yes. And like its three East Coast counterparts (Harvard, Princeton, and Yale), Stanford does not require its students to take any courses even bearing a resemblance to Western civilization. Not to say there aren’t a small group of dedicated students who do take such courses, but generally, most students don’t bother with Western Civ.
Even other major colleges with Western Civ/Great Books requirements are watering them down in order to get more high school students to apply and to attend (in the vague hope that students who aren’t intimidated by rigorous coursework will more likely attend the school).
Meanwhile I am rereading Don Quixote today for the pleasure of it, and I chose not to go to college at all. Saved a heap of money and time :)

They have bought into “relativism”, Cultural, Moral, Gender and now “scientific”.
So much so, that they now go out of their way to “prove themselves” as being “Enlightened”, and attempt to intimidate others to show how much they care. If they fail to express the proper level of outrage they will be labeled, defined and therefore lose their social status.
This goes way beyond them being “Spoiled Children” and the lack of education/indoctrination.
IMHO, it’s the denial of their own human nature.
I could break these things down, step by step, but at the end of the day?
At the end of the day it comes down to Creation or Evolution.
There is no escaping this.
