On April 19, NBC News reported the Cruz campaign was bragging that its organizational wizardry would enable the Texan to pick up a lot of Pennsylvania's 57 unbound delegates on April 26 delegates that were elected at the congressional district level with no indication on the ballot of their presidential candidate preferences. Indeed, Cruz's Keystone power was supposedly why he was spending the evening of April 19 in that state rather than personally witnessing his drubbing in New York that night.
"He'll be in Philly for his watch party tonight," NBC's Hallie Jackson said. "That's indicative of where he and his campaign see this race going, to Pennsylvania, where they are looking to make a play for these unbound delegates. Even if they come in a distant third, a top campaign aide tells me, they will still, they believe, pick up more than half the delegates there."
"They're looking at more than 30," she reported.
Well, as it happened, Cruz did better than a "distant third" in Pennsylvania yesterday. He was a distant second to Donald Trump with about 22 percent of the vote to Donald Trump's 57 percent and John Kasich's 19 percent. As expected, Trump won all 17 of the statewide delegates. But at the congressional district level, Cruz did not win more than half the unbound delegates, and certainly didn't win "more than 30." According to another NBC report after the primary, Cruz won two. And the big winner was the organizationally inept or so it was thought Mr. Trump.

My sentiments exactly.
BTW: You seem to be a very talented writer. What do you do for a living?
As that fount of wisdom President Frank Underwood always says, if you don’t like the way the table is set, turn over the table.
So is the news media.
They're are going to be so many 'controversial' announcements from the Trump White House that they will turn blue in the face trying to keep up their anger level.
There was no one standing outside my polling place (outside of Pittsburgh PA area) of either party which is unusual but with the Internet, people are unusually well-informed. Many links online to listing of delegates by district who declared for Trump. Although one of my friends was still clueless, saying we didn’t know what delegates to pick. In election results for her 14th district, the delegates were still marked as question mark as to who they’ll support.
Thank you.
I’m a retired auctioneer. I auctioned anyiques, cars and trucks, real estate, pretty near anything from 1968 until 2010.
I like words, communicating.
I REALLY like using words to communicate my love and gratitude to my Lord Jesus, for saving a bum like me.
Apostle Paul once wrote, “Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift.” That’s an understatement, IMHO, but I say amen to it.
Blessings on your day.
Cruz being “super intelligent” was and still is a myth.
Lyin’ Ted, the “super debater”, lost all 11 debates to a novice (Trump)
Just look at the people he chose to be his partners - from “Stabby the Clown” to the Bushies.
Lyin’ Ted never accomplished anything in private industry.
Lyin’ Ted has always been a sleazy lawyer has demonstrated in his sleazy tactics that began in Iowa.
“Stupid. Its never been Cruzs game. Its always been THE game. About time Trump started playing.”
IMHO it is because Cruz has had the backing of the Republican party and they also make the rules.
“So Trump may pick up 10 more from PA?”
I sure hope so. I also hope Trump picks of the lone delegate from Huckabee and the 8 from Carson.
Sounds like Trump not only bought the lemonade delegate stands in PA, he refused to serve Scruz and his delegate scavengers.
Exactly.
Like all things Trump....ahead of schedule....and under budget.
Excellent!
My beef with the meme, ...its no secret. The rules have been public for all to see.
Yes, theyre public; but good old salt of the earth, meat and potatoes folks, who TRUST their party aparatchiks, never dreamed they were this devious and underhanded.
“Does that mean that the rules are stacked against Cruz now - or that now Trump is cheating?”
Interesting things happen after Cruz lowered the bar...
Them’s the rules Cruzers! Hardeharhar!
As Trump gains momentum, and Scruz goes into free fall, more good people will want to serve with Trump!
bump
No because Trump is actually getting the votes.
Yes he did, and the evidence is showing.
CNN is showing Trump with 52 total delegates likely in PA (and it is likely that that number will go higher, probably over 60 before all is said and done and once they vote at the convention):
http://edition.cnn.com/election/primaries/states/pa/Rep
Current delegate count according to them, and I have found them to be fairly accurate is:
Trump: 991
Cruz: 568
Kasich: 154
http://edition.cnn.com/election/
I expect Trump will go well over the top (probably by 60 or more delegates at this point), on June 7th.
I say all of this as one who diligently supported Cruz. But the truth on the ground is what it is.
Now, if Cruz is interested in the GOP nominee (without any e) winning in November, then he needs to concede next week after Trump (in all likelihood) takes Indiana.
I pray to God that is what he will do. He has the power to:
1) Unite the party by so doing.
2) Deliver a huge blow to the GOPe by so doing.
3) Set up for a big GOP November win.

There’s rules and there’s rules.
It was ‘within the rules’ for Ryan to pass the spending bill using democrat votes, and for Boehner to do the same.
They played ‘by the rules’.
But that doesn’t mean they didn’t betray their constituents with their shenanigans.
