Trump won the GOP votes in all five States.

In those States, the majority of voters identifying as GOP would be considered as liberals in most of fly-over country.

Conservatives like Cruz have never expected to do well in the liberal blue States of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic coast.

Not true, octex; these voters are NOT "liberals" at all and many are more conservative than Ted Cruz.

Are the Southern RED States not filled with CONSERVATIVES? Trump won ALL of them!

You need to stop trashing FREEPERS who are Trump supporters but live in a state you appear to hate for no reason.

That’s true, It’s unfair to Cruz. If only the United States consisted of just Texas, Wisconsin and Iowa and only let the party elite vote, Cruz would have a chance.

Letting all these regular people vote...just not fair.

And how did "conservatives like Cruz" expect to do in the South, where he also got crushed?

Delusional much?

Vote Trump

In Delaware, true conservative Bible-believers (and there are a few) got their belly full of compromising when they were given no choice but the false Christian Romney in the last general election, reluctantly voted for him, and lost anyway.

They'll never vote for a backbiting billionaire blowhard like The Donald. Or phonies like HRC or Bernie. IMHO

A year ago I was avidly for Cruz, right up until the end of 2015. Ted STARTED his campaign with the fundamental strategy that his bedrock was the Solid South. Firmly stanced on that, he could use the power and will of conservative logic, etc. and convince other new states not considered ‘republican’ - maybe even some of the ones that recently swapped from red to blue.

All that worked out real well, huh? Pretty soon, in addition to saying “real conservatives never expected (the South, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast)” you’ll have to add more of your ‘flyover country’ as well as a large chunk of the West Coast.

Which means that Cruz could never have won those states in November, while Trump has a fighting chance.

Really? Do they “expect to do well” in the “east” states like AZ and NV (which Cruz lost? Or the “east” like AL, AR, FL, KY, MO, MS, NC, SC, TN, or VA? He lost every one of those states. Or OH or MI? Those aren’t “east”?

You do realize that St. Ted lost every single county in FL, OH, PA, NY, PA, RI, DE, MD, NY, and CT? Every county.

Maybe a refresher on geography would help.

If Cruz wasn’t expected to do well in the “liberal blue states” in the NE, how do you expect him to do well in the “liberal blue states” of CA, OR, and WA that are coming up. From what I’ve been hearing from Cruzers for the last week or so is that this is where he plans to win big, or is that just talk?

Cruz is either incapable or unwilling to broaden his base. You can't win a general appealing only to the extreme right wing.
