In 2016 more than half of converts in Vienna were Muslim, according to reports
An increasing number of Muslim migrants in Austria are converting to Christianity, according to reports.
According to Austrian website Kurier, 83 adults were approved for baptism in Vienna in 2016, with Friederike Dostal of the Austrian Bishops’ Conference estimating that about half of them were Muslims, mainly from Syria, Afghanistan, and Iran. This figure is up from one-third in 2015.
There is expected to be a further rise of Muslim converts in 2017 due to the fact that there has been an increase in the number of refugees arriving in Vienna in recent months and because the conversion process, known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, takes up to a year to complete.
The Archdiocese in Vienna is handling between five and 10 adult baptism requests per week, Kurier says.
If they are just cultural muslims that now feel free to practice a faith that won;t have them doing violence to others, then fine , good for them...
If they are devout muslims practicing taquiya... then that is bad bad bad....
They think it will help them be able to stay, when in fact, they are more likely to turn away Christians

Most likely these are real converts. I say that for several reasons, but most of all because the numbers are small. Think about it: We’re really talking about a few dozen people out of THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of “migrants”.
It would be interesting to know how many are women and how many are men. That could be telling in some ways.

Well, every convert is good news. But if there were about forty converts in 2016, that’s a pretty small number compared to the number of Muslims flooding into the country.
I give them the benefit of the doubt. We need more converts from Islam to Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, etc. The ancestors of these people once we’re not Muslim.
He probably doesn’t mean that, in the sense of believing it. Most Muslim in Iran are actually closet atheists, because they are Persian first and hate that their traditional religions cannot be practiced, but they cant say anything else than what your friend told you.

Just about every muslim has an ancestor who converted to islam at the point of a sword.
