COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A coroner says seven of the eight victims in killings targeting a southern Ohio family were shot multiple times, and one had nine gunshot wounds.
The Hamilton County coroner said Tuesday that autopsies showed some victims also had bruising. One victim was shot only once, but it's not clear who that was.

I am also wondering about dogs. I read somewhere that the sister of one of the victim houses went to feed the dogs, and it sounded like there were at least 5 of them, 2 of which were pit bulls. Does anyone know whether the dogs were found, dead or alive? The story I ready just trailed off as to the status of the dogs.
Yeah, but suppressed doesn't mean silent. Still pretty loud inside smaller areas.
I think I read where they fed the fightin roosters to the dogs and got caught tryin to feed the dogs to the gators, or that was a reality show episode, I forgot
I think that mayhem is awful-but I admit to having liked the Sopranos, breaking bad, and I’m watching the 4th season of El Senor de los Cielos-I suppose crime and mayhem is interesting as long as it just a TV series...
Just home from work and catching up. Thanks for ping.
So the sister who found the two men said it looked as though they (one or both) had the crap beat out of them. If I’ve taken 9 bullets, depending on where they hit, it could look that way. The coroner said the shots were to head, torsos and extremities.
So one possibility is someone came in and surprised a shooter, tried to get awawy/fight back and received 9 bullets. Or...the 9 was for the one they were MOST angry with, or neither scenario and something different happened.
Odd that the father of Dana Rhoden is furious with LE for releasing pot growing info and for asking tough questions of family.
Still bothering me are the dogs. Two pits and assorted others. The pits have been characterized as guard dogs. Even though it’s rural, when one dog starts barking, there goes the neighborhood.
Even if the dogs were in cages, what’s preventing them from barking? Because they knew the shooter(s)???
Stranger by the day...
Nobody shot over 10 times.
This proves the effectiveness of 10-shot magazine limits.
(Although in Ohio it is 30+1).
See. No one needs more than 10.
I just heard that LE in Ohio suspects the family had a narco mafia/cartel connection-guess those series about mafia on Fox and Telemundo aren’t all that much fiction...
I think it was either Mexicans or domestic bike gang druggies (this is on the border with Kentucky, which has a lot of both). They were apparently also doing cockfighting, which in my state can be black or rural white as well as Mexican (we don’t have a lot of Mexicans here). Seems this family was dealing with some seriously bad actors.
One of my son’s friends when he was a teenager - a boy from a ‘”good Motmon family” - was shot to death on a back road near our town in California because kids don’t realize exactly how serious this is and what they’re dealing with. But on the other hand, the adults in his family weren’t doing grow houses and building tents (cockfighting) as this family appears to have been doing.
If the victims were growing MJ and if they were users of MJ it makes one wonder about the results from the autopsies.
Would being stoned make them sleep extra soundly and not rouse to barking dogs or pistol shots?
No. My guess - multiple shooters.
somebody in the area stated they “knew” who it probably was because of the two dogs...they would have gone ballistic if it was somebody they didn’t know....
did they say if there was more than one gun.?????
Practicing for the Republican presidential convention.
“Would being stoned make them sleep extra soundly and not rouse to barking dogs or pistol shots?”
No. Marijuana is not a narcotic.
[This seems like hatred for the family or a few members and the rest were killed for being there. ]
The shootings took place at 4 different locations. This would lead me to believe there were at least 4 targets.
Authorities, including Mike DeWine, are holding a presser tomorrow, updating the press since thr 1 year anniversary is next week.
Presser will start at 10:45 am local time. Live coverage will be available at the link.
It’s odd, but for some reason I’ve followed this story since it happened. As far as I can tell at this point they’re no closer to arresting anyone today than the day it happened. It’s a bizarre case and there’s been no leaking to the press. Zip, nada.
We were in NE OH a few days after the murders. Folks were scared and pi$$ed. A year later, still no arrests, and local and state LE isn’t looking very good. I keep wondering why the Feds haven’t bigfooted this case.
Nuts, isn’t it? In some of the articles I’ve read it’s reported that Ohio BCI had taken over the case. But several months ago the sheriff said he believes the killers are local and pretty much threw cold water on Mexican cartel.
