Wait, is Rush correct? Is Cruz ONLY seeking to get delegates in second round?
I don’t think that’s the case. I think many of these efforts are in fact aimed at flipping them on the first round.
CO obviously wasn’t about the second ballot.
I wish someone would call and ask if regular Republican voters with jobs and families should have to spend hours, if not days, at caucus after caucus to make sure that their will is expressed in the delegate selection. The sane answer of course is no.
Only party apparatchiks have that kind of time to devote to politics, which is why some of these states (CO, WY) have gone to that type of system.
They haven’t legally shut the voters out, but they have functionally done so, and that is wrong.
Making sure our voice is heard by the Republican Party shouldn’t be a full time job.
I agree. I think he’s trying to flip on the first ballot. I feel it in my bones.
Rush was saying he didn’t see anything wrong with what Ted has been doing - the RULZ, you know - since years and years and years.
Rush is not acknowledging why people are having the perception that it is a rigged system. He is not acknowledging that it has ALWAYS been a rigged system. Well, at least he acknowledged that this is one of the rare times when all of us are being treated to witnessing the sausage making. But he’s clearly not on our side with respect to those RULZ and the need to have a discussion about whether to reform them or form a new party.
Donald imho, is not whining and trying to get them to change the rules now - he actually said he was proud of himself for exposing the system.
Go Donald!
My understanding, Cruz claims to have recruited delegates now pledged to Trump due to primary winnings to vote for him in second round or whenever their state rules allow them to switch.
Separate issue is states that have no primary vote, and delegates that are not pledged to vote a certain way. Cruz has gained the support of delegates in those states- I assume those delegates would vote for Cruz in the first round.
