More than 340,000 have signed a pledge to stop shopping at Target, in response to the corporation’s announcement this week that transgender employees and customers will be allowed to use the bathroom that corresponds with their gender identity.
“This means a man can simply say he ‘feels like a woman today’ and enter the women's restroom... even if young girls or women are already in there,” stated the American Family Association, which started the petition.
Target on Tuesday became the first giant retailer to weigh in on an issue at the center of a heated national debate.
The announcement came just after North Carolina passed a law requiring people to use bathrooms in public facilities that correspond with their gender at birth.
“#BoycottTarget has resonated with Americans,” wrote AFA president Tim Wildmon.

I see the problem thusly: When undetectable trannies were in the restroom, no one noticed or cared. I myself have never seen the elusive trannie in public anywhere (that I know of). The problem is that Target has loudly and publicly declared open season on women and children to perverts, pedophiles and rapists to appease a super small segment of society, that frankly, I may never see in my lifetime. Well done, Target! Well done!

I moved back to Iowa in the very early '80's after my naval enlistment was up. We were going through the "Equal Rights Amendment" at the time.

Sex is the physical male/female. Gender is much stickier. It's masculine/feminine or how we FEEL about our sexuality.

The mayor of Charlotte, NC, Jennifer Roberts, is a super liberal. She and her buddy (a registered sex offender, by the way) decided to push this and get an ordinance passed to allow men into ladies rooms and showers.
Roberts was told not to do it by the governor but she did anyway. Now she claims she had no idea it would be a problem. Dumb liberal.

How about seeing if it actually happens. Firms like this have other means of defending themselves from openly antisocial behavior and will do it, just like Whole Foods ruthlessly sued the “gay pastor” who faked his cake.
And the push back had to be something that claimed even more for the state than to specifically pre-empt such an ordinance putting things back to the status quo?
This sounds like a “king of the hill” game. They let themselves get baited into a game of who can “virtue signal” the brightest.
