ARE YOU TOO BUSY FOR GOD?
This means we must commit ourselves to hearing the Lord's voice. How else can we know and do the will of our Heavenly Father? It means that we have a particular commitment to the God-ordained transformation that needs to occur within us so that we may reflect the King of Glory's character. When we decide to be open to the Lord of Heaven, He transforms our lives, and we experience a quietness in our spirit, a confidence in our heart, a dogged determination in our mind, and an increasing faith in our soul. Why not ask God to help you determine whether you are the person He wants you to be? After all, if you are too busy for God, then you really are too busy! God will provide us with the strength and courage we need to confront and overcome anything that comes our way. So....embrace God's love a-new today, and Be Happy!!

For such a sweet compliment, I give you this, Kathy . . . my first composition written almost completely on music manuscript paper, out of my head. I derived the nine-note melody opening/theme melody from the version of Rabbi Gustav Gottheil's "Come O Sabbath Day" that my synagogue used when I was a boy growing up. That little melody (with which the words "thou shalt rest, thou shalt rest" were sung; I have no idea who came up with it, though I do know it
isn't the original music written for the hymn when Rabbi Gottheil wrote it in the late 19th century) stuck in my head all these years, so---armed with a computer program I found on which I can write music and it'll convert it to a sound file (but since it recognises the slash notation used to indicate improvisational passages, I had to patch in a simulated tenor sax solo off my electro keyboard as well as a demo guitar solo---I wrote this jazz/blues number:
Rest
For it went unwritten that the Lord gave Moses an eleventh commandment, and that commandment was . . . Thou shalt swing!

Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Revelation 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Revelation 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. [...]
Revelation 18:8 Therefore * shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
Revelation 18:9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
Revelation 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying , Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come .
Revelation 18:11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
Revelation 18:12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
Revelation 18:13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
