They don’t care. Hillary is fine with the GOPe. As long as it’s somebody who is part of the club.

What he says is technically correct. If there are 1273 delegates bound by state law to vote for Trump, then Trump will not become the nominee until they do vote for him. Of course, they will, but Trump is not the nominee until that happens.

The only official votes to nominate a candidate are those that are cast from the convention floor.

He is correct that the vote on the convention floor is the one that will bestow the nomination. However, if any delegate bound by state law attempts to vote otherwise, the rules as currently written provide that their vote will be recorded in accordance with state law.

Things like this are often written just to get people upset and, unfortunately, they frequently do just that. When it comes to our elections, we are not a patient lot and don't want to wait until the process runs it course before knowing the results. Anyone is free to speculate but, like it or not, no one will know for certain until after the convention vote.

That Curly HogLand needs to shut his damn mouth. He also needs to be fired and removed as a delegate.

Don’t let a little thing like fear and common sense hold you back. There is a plan B.

I am a Ted Cruz supporter but if Trump gets the magic number of delegates and is denied the nomination, we just elected Hillary Clinton and the Republican party will be a thing of the past.

The Chairman needs to get his troops under control. Self-inflicted injuries are just as fatal.

Exactly! They should no better than to talk publicly about the top secret plan to rob Trump of the nomination.

These are the kinds of things that make people vote and support Trump. Even The Nervertrump Cruzers would be irked by the arrogance

Thank you for your brilliant analysis. There are so many aspects to consider that it is easy to lose sight of the most important considerations. Cruz’s weakness in the battleground states is devastating. The leadership is going to have to face reality especially if Trump does as well as is forecast by the polls this coming Tuesday.

This poster has posted this delegates personal contact information on Post 11, 15 and 20. Not to mention the vulgar language.

Posting a person’s or a delegates personal information is likely both unethical and illegal.

This is not the way FR used to be. Is it now OK on FR?

Waaaahhhh, wwwwwaaaaahhhHHHHHH, WAAAHHHHHH.

The problem for these "Never-Trump" snivellers is that everything about "The Donald" is and has been fairly prolific public domain water-cooler fodder for decades. Decades.

There is nothing "new" they can tell us. We've heard it all before, and we're absolutely unimpressed.

He's the guy. We want Trump, warts and all. They really should just suck it up for the good of the country. After all, they're "Republicans," right? They know how to just 'fall in line,' or so we've been told.

Those who would do the unFReeper thing might find his entire interview interesting. Haugland is aware of the history of primaries and the nature of America’s political parties. He just leaves out some important information, perhaps just to give himself the illusion that he’s more important than he actually is.

FACT: No nominee has ever in the history of the GOP arrived at the convention with over 80% of the needed delegates and been denied the nomination. Never. Not once. Trying it this time will end the GOP. Just sayin’...

$$$ & Power: “...subtle rules changes to empower primaries at the expense of convention delegates....” Curly wants the delegates to hold 100% power and not the caucus goers/voters, especially the primary voters.

Curly wants convention delegates to be have no loyalty to a candidate and no obligation to the voters. Haughland is consumed with himself. Here is one of Curly’s ‘outrage’ letters to the other RNC delegates over ‘binding’ the delegates 2014:

May 8, 2014 email received from
Curly Haugland, National Committeeman for North Dakota

Dear RNC Member:

Re: Binding Added to Rules by Fraud

The Binding Discussion has recently led to the shocking discovery that the word “binding” was added to the Rules of the Republican Party through deliberate acts of fraud and deceit.

Shocking, to say the least!

A page by page review of all of the proceedings since the 2004 National Convention, which led to the adoption of a rules change to add the words “select, allocate and bind” to what was then Rule 15, “Election of Delegates and Alternate Delegates”, reveals that, in fact, there was virtually NO discussion of the impact that adding these words to the Rules of the Republican Party would have on the presidential nomination process......

“Binding” delegates to the results of primary elections is the only way primary proponents can preserve the “value” of primaries and justify the huge amounts of money invested in attempts to “win” primaries. This primary money has a large constituency of big money donors and campaign consultants that have become dependent on primaries as a way to exert undue influence, in the case of donors; and accrue tremendous wealth, in the case of campaign consultants. Members of the RNC who are also members of the National Presidential Caucus have been directly involved in subtle rules changes to empower primaries at the expense of convention delegates.

National Presidential Caucus Participants

G. “Binding” delegates was, and is, in direct conflict with Rules 37 and 38 which prohibit binding. According to Robert’s Rules of Order, a motion which conflicts with an existing rule is an improper motion, and is null and void.

Thus, a major fraud was perpetrated on the Republican National Committee, and subsequently, on the entire Republican National Conventions of 2008 and 2012.
