Sen. Ted Cruzs wipeout in the New York primary, while expected, nevertheless rattled many Republican insiders and activists who did not foresee the magnitude of the defeat. Is Cruz crumbling? Was Wisconsin an anomaly? The Cruz campaign set itself up, sending the candidate to campaign for days in New York and suggesting that Cruz could pick off congressional districts. He didnt, and worse, came in third. Expectations should have been kept low. Really low.
Just as they recovered from New York, anti-Trump Republicans looked up to see a batch of polls from the states that will be voting on April 26. Trump is ahead by a healthy margin in all of them. Gulp. Trump is winning by 18 points in one California poll. According to another report, Cruz is tied in two Indiana polls and behind in one. Yikes.

I would not be surprised for them to find (Ted) Cruz wandering on a busy highway in his underwear, mumbling, any day now.
LOVE IT! :-)
Yes...
Trump making Rubio his running mate would be a good choice...Rubio can bring in a lot of votes...
The only really important position of a VP is 2nd in line for the presidency...
The VP gives speeches, make appearances, looks important...
That quote goes along with Cruz saying Trump needed to be beaten at the ballot box, not in Cleveland.
You might be just a bit premature and are sounding exactly like the Cruzites after the Wisconsin victory. I believe that I would show a little caution in making predictions. God will choose whom he will choose, not you, or me or anyone else. In fact, this might be a great time to announce that you would support whomever the Party chooses, if you are a Republican. There is strength in unity, and never strength in division.
Wisconsin was fraud. Cruz’s whole campaign was fraud.
I have never seen a worse campaign. There was never a Cruz surge. It was media and GOPe created after Rubio soiled himself. Cruz was all that was left.
Cruz started out from the gate with a losing venture! Soon, I am going to post about how Cruz defeated Cruz from the outset.
Just like Moses, in the desert! ;)
“Real Americans rejoice”
*****
So you’re saying that all of the Cruz supporters on Free Republic are not real Americans?
Stay classy.
Trump 49.3 (+5), Cruz 28.2 (-5), Kasich 17.3 (+3)
Couldn't happen to a bigger sleaze. ;)
Trump/Rubio is a no winner. I live in Florida and have for the last 26 years. Rubio has no political future in Florida politics that is why he only won a single county in the primary. Trump/Rubio will lose Florida in the general election and therefore the race goes to the Dems. Trump needs someone else like Sessions or maybe Brewer.
Cruz is just a recalcitrant spoiler at this point. Calls for him to get out are just around the corner. He’s crazy if he thinks the party or Trump are going to let him walk into Cleveland and burn the house down like he does in the Senate. Its just not going to happen.
Moses never made it to the promised land, either.
He's too damn stubborn to give up.
Cruz is only staying the course in hopes that he can keep Trump from getting required amount of support.
He’s too damn stubborn to give up.
Not just that. Cruz knows he can’t win so he is trying to “Goldwater” Trump to open up 2020 for himself.
“I would not be surprised for them to find (Ted) Cruz wandering on a busy highway in his underwear, donated by Beck, and mumbling, any day now.”
“He’s too damn stubborn to give up.”
At this point he’s too stupid to give up. Believes his own propaganda.....
Oh are you ever right.
I still have no idea how the reptilian charlatan Cruz has ANY support amongst sentient conservatives. Total slimeball.
“Sen. Ted Cruz’s wipeout in the New York primary ... Rattled many Republican insiders and activists who did not foresee the magnitude of the defeat....”
*************************************************
The only folks who were “rattled”/surprised by the magnitude of Cruz’ defeat in the New York primary were those who disbelieved the polling data foretelling of the defeat & its magnitude. There will be similar folks who will be “rattled” & surprised at the magnatude of Trump’s LANDSLIDE DEFEAT to Hillary in the November election in spite of the numerous polls foretelling of that landslide.
