It is hillarious these high-performance high fuel efficiency European style diesels are against EPA regulations. It is an example of how US regulations mandate Americans will have second rate products.
This is just the first step toward world government regs on automobiles.......................
The US regulations on Diesel car emissions were actually considerably more stringent that European regulations at the time when these cars were built. The difference has narrowed since then, as I understand it, but the US regulations are still tighter than in Europe.
It is the California requirements that knock diesel out.
There are so many different brands of diesels in Europe.
