As I have made the stroll from my wifes hospital room to the NICU these past few days it has been hard to fathom the way that our family has been put together.
This past Sunday, my gorgeous wife a white evangelical, like me gave birth to our beautiful African-American triplet daughters whom we adopted as embryos. These sweet girls will hopefully soon be coming home to meet their 3-year-old African-American brother and 2-year-old biracial sister, both of whom we adopted as infants. The normalcy of this paragraph is something I have come to take for granted. Yet what seems to us to be the logical outcome of being pro-life is still something that to others often needs much explaining.

Because they are gullible and stupid.
And I'm gonn'a pee on all four corners and I'll probably eat some worms while I'm at it ....
I need to stay away from my guns.
As whites, short of a foreign adoption, it is very difficult for them to adopt black children. Liberals typically consider it better for black kids to stay in foster homes than be adopted and raised by whites.
Ooops, “UNBIASED”.
First of all..."African-American"? And...OK,they're black.Lots of people are.But my question is...will you want them to be judged by the content of their character,or the color of their skin.
That's *not* a trick question.
And FYI...it's "settled science" that white people are fundementally unfit to raise black kids!
And as for God's wishes,I doubt that He would be any more,or any less, pleased by this story than He would if the color of the kids was different.
Follow the money. Foster care means employment for social workers, money for the operators of group homes.
It's also a big cash cow for some foster parents. What you see is girls "giving up" their babies to foster care, and grandma graciously taking them in as foster kids (they prefer to place foster kids with relatives). Reimbursement rates for foster kids is much higher than welfare payments.
I believe it is a question of supply & demand; years ago a I had a sociology professor ask why black babies were “cheaper”, and I responded that there were many more available, and “cheap” had nothing to do with it (this was at a time when NJ’s main newspaper featured a “negro of the week” for adoption; sadly, they were usually troubled kids - not babies).
I don’t know why somebody wouldn’t adopt rather than deal with the implanting stuff; while this guy is patting himself on the back for the great sacrifice he has made for black people, he left three kids in foster care...
Perhaps...but it is, to me, always akin to putting a food in your mouth that you think is one thing and turns out to be another. Even with something unexpected that you like, there is an instant of revulsion as your brain says “Hey! That wasn’t what I was expecting at all!”
There have been news stories over the years regarding gibsmedats “fostering” many more children than anyone could be expected to care for; it IS just a cash cow (and the stories are in the news because of criminal activity in the “family”).
I actually like the idea.
Seriously!
These embryos were given a chance to live, grow up and be part of a loving family
Sadly, very common; it is much easier to be a “victim” rather than a “failure”, and racial politics makes the latter into the former.
Uh Oh.
Black kids with white privilege!

Up is down and left is right.
It is wrong. And it isn't wrong that they chose black embryos, it appears to wrong why they chose black embryos.
At least that is the feeling I have.
Bingo.
Some people adopt cats while some people adopt black babies like potato chips.
Ya can’t have just one!
Someone please give this WHITE evangelist a prize, an award or medal.
Since evangelists are a non profit business, are they on welfare to support their habit?
The concept of going through a catalog and looking at what fertilized embryos were available, and saying to each other (I paraphrase) "Let's select the black embryos, because we want to show society how un-prejudiced we are, and set an example for other people to see racial boundaries don't mean anything."
It reeks of selfishly motivated social experimentation. If they did the same thing by adopting, nobody would likely say a word.
[Theres something about that aspect of this that disturbs me.
Its based on an immense selfishness. Its all about Look at me! See how great I am!]
My thoughts exactly.
In before the inevitable Lemonjello and Orangejello nonsense.
