The State Department official who issued visas to many of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists is still employed by the federal government, according to J. Michael Springmann, the author of Visas for al-Qaeda: CIA Handouts That Rocked the World.
Springmann, former head of the visa section at the U.S. Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, told PJM that Shayna Steinger approved 11 of the visas granted to the 19 9/11 hijackers. Fifteen received their visas at the Jeddah consulate.
Page 7 of the 9/11 Commission report states that one consular officer issued visas to 11 of the 19 hijackers. Those visas were reportedly approved between the years 1999 and 2001.
Springmann, an attorney who no longer works for the federal government, learned the State Department commissioned Steinger as a class four foreign service officer in 1999, which he said is a high rank for someone hired just out of Columbia University with no prior experience.
Despite her issuing visas to terrorists and giving equivocal answers to the 9/11 Commission, Steinger is still an FSO, Springmann wrote in his book.
She was appointed and confirmed by the Senate under the Clinton administration in 1999 as Shayna Steinger Singh
Khalid Al Mihdhar, who helped crash the plane into the Pentagon, simply listed Hotel as his U.S. destination no name, no city, no state but no problem getting a visa, said an ABC News report about the State Department lapses that helped the hijackers enter the U.S.

Were they falsified or legit ?
Incompetence at the VA, criminal conduct at the IRS, and this negligence by State. Is it possible to get fired from the Federal Government?
sex toy for job security
and former Sociopath of State, Hillaryous Rotten Criminal is running for president of the republic. Bananas.
Don’t blame that worker bee for the failings of his bosses and their policies.
Only if you're a Republican US Attorney and a dem gets elected President.
Generally the State Department sees their mission as representing the interests of foreigners and other countries above the interests of the USA.
I think she as hired specifically for this just in case Gore lost. Sound crazy? Hey, people on the Left think Bush facilitated the entire attack. But then again, I didn’t pay off the DNC debt to ensure I was chosen by the Democrat Delegates for the nomination
“”Were they falsified or legit ?””
They were all legitimate (went through the entire process), according to everything at the time copies of the applications were released. There used to be copies online but I haven’t been able to find them for years. They may as well have been approved by a blind person as most of the applications were barely legible with incomplete, idiotic, questionable answers on the apps as indicated in the article.
If my memory is correct, the workers approving the applications and issuing the visas were given bonuses a year or two after 9/11...
This pretty much covers the applications..but not pictured.
From the ABC link in the article and no fear because they have NOW improved the process. You bet ‘cha!
“”The pattern? None of the 15 applications reviewed was filled out properly.
Brothers Wail and Waleed al Shehri applied together in October 2000. Under “occupation” Wail wrote “teater;” brother Waleed claimed “student.” The name and address of alleged employer and school was listed as “South City,” and the questionable U.S. destination named as “Wasantwn.”
Abdulaziz Alomari claimed to be a student but didn’t name a school; claimed to be married but didn’t name a spouse; under nationality and gender, he didn’t list anything.
Three months later, Alomari followed his friend Mohamed Atta through airport security heading for the World Trade Center.
Khalid Al Mihdhar, who helped crash the plane into the Pentagon, simply listed “Hotel” as his U.S. destination no name, no city, no state but no problem getting a visa.
Just One Had a Slight Delay
Hani Hanjour, who also was on the plane that hit the Pentagon, had only a slight delay in acquiring his visa. A consulate employee flagged Hanjour’s first application, noting that Hanjour wanted to “visit” for three years, although the legal limit is two. When Hanjour returned two weeks later, he simply changed the form to read “one year”.
“They were handing these things out gift-wrapped with ribbons on top,” said Joel Mowbray, contributing editor of the National Review.
Mowbray, who obtained the visas, said he was shocked by what he saw. “I mean, I really was expecting al Qaeda to have trained their operatives well, to beat the system,” he said. “They didn’t have to beat the system, the system was rigged in their favor from the get-go.”
The State Department insists that employees did nothing wrong that the questions raised about the applications amount to Monday morning quarterbacking, and that extensive screening procedures have now been implemented to improve the process.
The State Department would not allow interviews with current consular affairs employees.””
Just another shitehole that needs to be boarded up along with Energy, Education and the others.
And Sha-Na-Na got promoted. She may be a willing participant, or she may be an empty-headed bureaucrat. I'll bet she's both.
Yes. Wear a cross or tell folks around the water cooler you believe marriage ought to be restricted to one man and one woman.
