In a stamp of approval that likely has Mitt Romney gnashing his teeth, his niece has declared her support for Donald Trump.
And Ronna Romney McDaniel, appearing on Fox News' "The Kelly File," said she's sure her uncle won't take the news litely.
What's more, McDaniel joked, she wouldn't be surprised if she's cut out of the family fortune for supporting a candidate the former Massachusetts governor and 2012 GOP presidential nominee labelled a "con man" and a "fake."
McDaniel, who serves as chair of the Michigan Republican Party, told Megyn Kelly that as a GOP delegate in The Wolverine State, she has pledged her vote for Trump at this July's Republican convention.

Romney no longer has any interest in Bain Capital anyway, he left in 2002.
Made my day.
I don’t know if it a trick or not, but thinking that it isn’t so I would say Congrats to both the woman and Trump...
And it just shows what a dip wad Romney is anyway...
Compared to the alternatives, she probably understands that the country needs any sliver of a chance to survive.
Unless this is a different interview than the one I saw.... She wasn’t “supporting” Trump, she was merely fulfilling her duty to be bound to vote for him. She didn’t express any negative comments about Trump, but she also wasn’t expressing any “support” for him, other than her duty to vote for him, which she takes very seriously. I respected the way she handled it.
Did she mention Teddie? At all?
Well look at it this way. Do you see Romney as a Trump delegate?
She’s incompetent. She must be impeached.
“Did she mention Teddie? At all?
Did she say she even liked Trump or any of his policies? [Hint: The answer is no.]
Don’t be surprised if she pulls a Romney.
Not at all. Not sure what you mean. I think she handled it as well as she could, under the circumstances of her family’s position. I thought she handled it with class and integrity. And that’s what I expect of these delegates... not the self-serving shenanigans that have been going on.
You may want to read the whole quote to see the context with which she stated it. There's a lot of wiggle room in her answers that show she's hedging her bets.
"My intention is to stay with the voters of Michigan to show them that the Republican Party is not disenfranchising their vote. We'll see what happens in Cleveland. We're not there yet. Thank goodness."
On whether she personally supports or likes Trump, she punted:
"I support any of our candidates above Hillary Clinton. I'm going to be supporting our nominee wholeheartedly going into November."
If you're happy with that coming from a Romney, throw a party! :-)
In a stamp of approval that likely has Mitt Romney gnashing his teeth, his niece has declared her support for Donald Trump.
I would say it's a resounding yes. Why else might mittens withhold his financial blessings?
Read the quote in #32.
ROTFLMAO!
No need to party, but I do extend kudos to her for this conviction.
“No need to party, but I do extend kudos to her for this conviction.”
And if she changes her mind after a few ballots, because she thinks that’s the “right thing to do”, I think you’ll end up “convicting” her.
Tastes great. Less filling.
Oh, c’mon! Spelling is just so overrated.
I’d like to think this little bit of news made Mitt-Witt crap his magic underwear.
I truly doubt her family will hold it against her. In fact, they may be quietly all in favor, for the reason that they are political animals. They always want some connection to political power.
This is why so many ancient kings had a bunch of wives. Each of them was an important connection to the throne for any number of reasons.
