Is There Another Colorado Coming?
PoliZette ^ | April 13, 2016 | Ashley Pratte

Still reeling after Sen. Ted Cruz’s delegate sweep in Colorado, voters are waking up to the fact that delegates are the ones who will determine the Republican nominee and that the primaries and caucuses are just for show. What’s more, there might just be another Colorado on the horizon, where voters will get no say at all.

Up next is the state of Wyoming, a state which, along with Colorado and North Dakota, has chosen to not hold a nominating contest this year, which means no primary or caucus vote. Instead, Republican voters there will be represented by county delegates at a convention April 14-16. They will select the statewide delegates who will represent Wyoming at the Republican National Convention in July in Cleveland.

Wyoming holds 29 delegates: 14 will be elected at the convention and 12 have already been selected at county conventions — nine of which are Cruz supporters. One delegate went to Sen. Marco Rubio, one went to Donald Trump, and one is uncommitted. The remaining three delegates slots automatically go to members of the state GOP.

After the results in Colorado, a decision made last August when the state party there decided voters would not weigh in, one can expect Trump and his team to take Wyoming seriously and put forth a strong effort to make sure their supporters are selected to the remaining 14 slots at the Wyoming convention.

Wyoming is the final state to opt not to hold a nominating contest. Following the Cowboy State are states such as Delaware, Arizona and Virginia, which will hold their state conventions on April 30 — following their state’s caucuses or primaries. Most of the other states have gone more as expected.

People in these states (Colorado and Wyoming) should raise h*ll about not having their chance to vote themselves for the candidate of their choice...
They are no more than peasants, serfs, and commoners while the “Dukes, Earls, and Noblemen do the selecting of the “King” for them...

People, your opinion does not matter anymore....

Cruz and Hillary are both winning the insider game.

Amazing that Cruz defenders say this is all fair and legit when they’d be the first screaming if Trump were out buying votes

Guam has the same convention/caucus process as CO and WY. Nothing nefarious about any of them, and no need for the thoughtless Nazi reference.

If Cruz sweeps delegates in Wyoming, as expected, voters can expect to be confused and angry

So Trump's low information voters, who never gave a crap about how nominations were done in the past, will be mad?

Poor babies...........tune up the violin strings.

Bet we won't hear any pissing and moaning from the little darlin's if Manafort is able to clean Cruz's clock in Wyoming....using the same rules.

Funny how that works...........

The caucus on Guam took place on 1 day
We did not select delegates who would then select delegates to select delegates. The caucus chose to support Ted Cruz. There was no intermediate step. I was there.

There are only 140,000 people here and the island is about 1/2 the size of an average county so a caucus works better here than a larger place with a larger population.

Exactly. That’s how political parties work within our federalist system. It ain’t perfect, but it’s not Nazi Germany.

What about the people of Nevada and Hawaii? Why aren't Trumpsters decrying these states. Same rules. Just different results.

Hypocrisy is alive and well among Trump supporters.

Public caucuses such as Maine, Guam, Iowa and Nevada are fine. People have a chance to weigh in on the election in a fair manner. Insider Caucuses such as we see selecting delegates in Colorado, North Dakota, Wyoming, and others are strictly to ensure the inside party people control who is the nominee. Requiring multiple day, attendance for precincts, districts, and state is too difficult for people who have a life beyond politics.

Trump knows how to wheel and deal, he just don’t play the small game. Cruz can have little skirmishes and the big battles is where Trump will show up to play.

“In before the “These rule set a year ago and nobody complained” brown shirts start defending the indefensible.”

The State parties get to determine their own methods. Kinda like zoning laws and building regulations. Either Trump’s people did not perform due diligence or Trump thought he was going to just steamroll his way through things by calling people “stupid,” or threatening to sue everybody.

The anti-Trump GOP hacks are drunk on their hate of Trump.

WY, like CO will backfire on them and Cruz like CO did.
