Tell me why my son who has grown up here in IN all his life likes the Chicago Cubs and LOVES Duke basketball?
This is NOT Duke country. I still LOVE Bobby Knight and have just started (two years ago) backing the school I graduated from because of Bobby. I have only started being an IU supporter again is because, the people who fired him have either died or have absolutely nothing to do with IU any more.
When my son was young and I would go to Louisville to hunt for a Duke shirt for him I would get CUSSED out in front of him. LOL
I just read that Ted Cruz/Hannity event, which apparently was like an interview, in Binghamton NY on Fridy drew 1100 people. LOL. Tiny. If Hannity hadn’t been the host, there wouldn’t have been half that many. My husband went to hang around and check out the scene - though not go to the rally. He figured out where Hannity was parking so he went over there and met him, and got a picture with him. Then he and the neighbor left to go get bagels.
I think the vast majority of those posters are just zealots. I recognize nearly all the names, and have seen most of them post on various subjects. The giveaway to me is absence of participation in anything but election threads.
People are so shocked when they find... out I am Protestant.

You can love God and do so without having to travel all the way overseas to Israel, but you certainly can do so by placing a note in the wailing wall, or do so- by wearing a prayer box squarely on your forehead, to convince us of your piety, and whether you can or can’t- it’s OK with the rest of us.

Fun that your hubby got to meet Hannity and have his picture taken with him! Hannity seems like a nice and personable guy. I was coming out of an elevator some years ago in NYC and Neil Cavuto was there with some guy and I said hi to him and said I liked his show. He was pleasant enough but I suspect Hannity is much more so - more personable and not quite as “stiff” (for lack of a better word).
I ventured out to the octagon. I felt compelled to leave this little sentiment at a thread trying to paint Trump with the same narcissistic brush as Obama.
Voters chose Obama because of the color- BLACK!

Me too. I’m retired- sort of... I’ve been hiking the Pacific Crest Trail over the last five years, spending more and more time out on the trail. Last year, it was March 3rd, until mid November. Now, I’m holed up in Peoria, AZ, just about ready to break for the trail once again. I have been immersed in the Trump movement almost nonstop since the baptism. The baptism is hard to define in a time frame. That’s actually a very interesting question for me to answer for myself.
True story- when Cruz announced... I emailed my circle of influence in an exuberant manner. Somehow, someway- thereafter... the Trump phenomenon consumed my radar and the next thing you know- I was hypnotized/Trumpnotized.
