Cruz PAC’s Paid Talk Radio Insider $8M Dollars – Was Money Illegally Used To Buy Endorsements?

(Reality Check 753) Reality Check has already shown how “Neutral” Conservative News Websites Breitbart and The Daily Wire are actually fronts for the Ted Cruz Campaign. In our article “The $25 Million Dollar Trump Take Down” we clearly show that the owners of those sites donated over $25 Million Dollars to the Cruz Campaign and then use their websites to promote him. But is Talk Radio also on the take? Reality Check dug into Cruz FEC Filings and discovered the Cruz PACs paid a Talk Radio Insider over $8 Million Dollars, and the endorsements of Glenn Beck, Mark Levin and others quickly came in.

The FCC regulates the nation’s TV and Radio Stations because the signals they use are owned by the public. This is why you cannot use certain words on the radio, stations must have licenses, keep a public records file and make it available, etc.

One FCC rule is 47 U.S. Code § 317 or the Payola Rule. Simply put, Radio/TV Stations and their employees are not allowed to take money to put content in their programming, mention items, talk about candidates, etc. unless that sponsorship is disclosed.

In other words, if a Talk Show host like Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, Hugh Hewitt or others was paid money by a campaign to talk glowingly, defend or endorse a candidate, and not disclose that they were paid on-air to the audience, or the radio stations they are broadcast on, they’d be in violation of the law. The station could lose it’s license and the host could be jailed and fined.

Politico published an article in December called, “Talk Radio Rallies Around Ted Cruz” highlighting Glenn Beck, Mark Levin and Erick Erickson, amongst others as hosts defending Cruz and bashing Donald Trump (to Cruz’s benefit).

I don’t have the link here, but on Oct. 15, 2015- Ted’s super Pac gave $10,000 to Mercury One Entertainment, which is Glenn Beck’s organization. Of course, I wondered what that money was for - and possibly this is the answer.

Article gave itself away as fraudulent in the first sentence....

...” Reality Check has already shown how “NEUTRAL” Conservative News Websites Breitbart and The Daily Wire are actually fronts for the Ted Cruz Campaign.”.....

Everybody knows Breitbart’s all the way in for Trump and doesn’t hide it either.....so whatever was stated thereafter is a waste of time.

A major Cruz Donner has provided substantial support to Breitbart. Also the reporter who falsely filed charges against Trump’s campaign manager was with Breitbart.

it’s different by about 24,975,000 dollars. There was only one complaint in Florida. One. It was referred to the NY AG for review. If it was field-kicked to another state, it must not have been a very good complaint.

Your candidate’s campaign is running a radio ad insinuating the Trump would have sex with his daughter. How do you feel about your guy now Colonel ?

Principled is not a word I would use to describe him.

“He lied last night on national TV,claimed he is the only one of the remaining 4 that does not support the Iranian nuke deal.

Trump spoke at an anti-nuke deal rally that Cruz also spoke at only minutes apart. Plus I know Ted has heard Trump position at the debates.

But hears the kicker, Cruz not only voted for the Corker Bill he cosponsored it.”

Took this from another post:

Your “principled” man just can’t stop lying !!

I stopped listening to Rush in 2012... However, I have a relative that still will check in to see what Rush is spouting. Today I get a phone call from my relative, Rush had gone full blown Hillry ... hyping some conspiracy about New Yorkers cutting off Cruz's mic last night.

I read about it here on FR as it was happening, and got a smile over it, but relative had not heard anything about Cruz's mic difficulties. I did get a good laugh over Rush going all conspiratorial on Cruz's behalf...

I never got into Beck... Levin lost me years ago ... My world use to revolve around tuning in to listen to Rush... I am in MO, and was loyal to Rush, until I figured out, Rush's worship of the bronze wall street bull was his number one priority. Rush's path to wall street greed was using ‘conservatives’ to fund his bank account... A one on one comparison of Trump and Rush, Trump is actually more conservative than Rush.

Aren't you upset in the slightest that Beck has gone so far over the top in his endorsement of Cruz? Aren't you rattled one bit that Cruz hasn't distanced himself from him or said one negative word about how insane the stuff Beck says is?

I would run from that kind of endorsement, it's just shy of being endorsed by the John Birch Society in the days after Buckley outed them. No it's actually worse than that; it's incomprehensible you don't find it bizarre in the least and is quite the self condemnation.

I have no idea what you are talking about because you do not supply a transcript, you do not supply a citation.

I will do you a better turn, here is a list of Lyin' Donald: 101 Of Trump's Greatest Lies laid out documented with citations.

I am appalled, but not at Cruz, I am appalled at Trump for his vulgarity, this time directed at his own daughter.

Let's not shoot the messenger here, it is Trump committing yet another grotesquerie.

I am far more appalled, as you as a Trump supporter should be by the outrages committed daily on this forum by Trump supporters who have so degraded the level of discourse here to a degree that it might not be recoverable.

I have no brief to carry for Beck. I am put off by many of his excesses but he is not the candidate, Cruz is the candidate and Cruz has almost never put a foot wrong in this campaign. If you look at the Trump campaign it is the candidate himself who commits grotesquerie after gaffe, after inciting violence.

If I were Cruz I would downplay my association with Beck but I do not find the current state of the relationship between the two nearly as offputting as the malicious buffoonery of Donald Trump.

If you want to play the repudiation game, one usually indulged in by the left in New York City in which candidates are compelled to repudiate whole voting blocs as well as out-of-favor individuals, I suggest you start with Roger Stone.

Congress must protect our borders first. Amnesty should be done only if the border is secure and illegal immigration has stopped.

(Donald Trump Tweet 29 August 2013 from the link)

Weak indeed!

My favorite lie is his assertion that a warned us off the invasion of Iraq and then called George Bush a liar about it. Two lies in the same breath in the same debate.

Cruz is the candidate and Cruz has almost never put a foot wrong in this campaign.

"Cruz has almost never put a foot wrong in this campaign"?

You live in an alternate universe!

Cruz has made numerous missteps and has exposed himself as a naked, unprincipled opportunist. Ted Cruz has:

Those are just off the top of my head, I know I'm omitting several more.

"Cruz has never put a foot wrong in this campaign" is simply false...

I doubt that any money is involved here.

The fat white guys on talk radio are all bushbots.

They are fluffing up Cruz so he will put Jeb on his mythical ticket as veep.
