Edit your hosts file and you will never have DNS issues with FR.

Add these entries:
209.157.64.200 freerepublic.com
209.157.64.200 www.freerepublic.com

(Tab between the IP and hostname is best practice)

For windows mac and linux Users: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/27350/beginner-geek-how-to-edit-your-hosts-file/

For IOS unjail breaked:
Use Weblock - AdBlock for iOS app to create a redirect rule from http://app to the IP and port you like. ie, 209.157.64.200 <- freerepublic.com
209.157.64.200 <- www.freerepublic.com
(Only works when on a WIFI network)

Msg me if you are jail breaked and cant figure it out. After making fun of you I will help. ;-P

You will have severe problems if you do this and FR ever changes IP address(es).

I did this last time and just did it again.

The thread I read about said that you should take off the added lines once it’s fixed and I did last time, is that not necessary? It’s safe to just leave it in?
