Of course, advocates will try to explain this away by saying that these people were psychotic to begin with. Imagine that!

But......it ISN’T that big dreaded, capitalist TOBACCO that kills you and your pets, too! How can psychosis be something concern ninnies are worried about? Does it affect Gaia in any way? We concerned ninnies want to know.

Correlation and causation aren’t the same thing.
A correlation argument could be made to “prove” that overeating snack foods is a risk factor for marijuana smoking.
In the present case, it may be that psychotic people are more likely than others to want to use marijuana (perhaps to alleviate mental pain). Does that make marijuana worse than Thorazine? Can’t tell on the surface, it would need other studies.

Everyone knows that smoking dope isn't addictive, isn't a gateway drug, and doesn't affect the user's mental state.
If you have doubts just listen to the libtard Talking Heads.
Or look at our president as an example.

Don’t mock, or you start to look like the medical equivalent of the AGW crowd. That could be exactly the kind of mind condition that wants pot more than the rest of people want pot.

The pain of being viewed as runts and/or the pleasure of being tall? An age factor too? Single factor correlations like this suggest openings for future research, but dragging them out as purported proofs on their own dumbs science down to the AGW level.

with the roxys, oxys, percs, vicos, Xanax, klonopin, valium, hydrocodone, hydroxyzine, that big pharma sells, they’re worried about pot.
disclaimer: i’m on klonopin to calm tremors and spasms caused by head injury and it works very well. only thing that has.
But i’m betting there will be a price to pay down the road.

Good scientists hate it for the same reason they hate the AGW craze.

Yup... find someone, anyone, with a big medicine bill and you probably have found a troubled soul.
That’s part of what medicines are for...
We’ve forgotten to look into the essential question about whether an item can be a good medicine even if some people use it for bad purposes.
