I think this took courage, regardless of who one’s voting for.

the would seem like a positive article for Cruz.

if he had taken it back, you and others would have said “look, no principles!”

silly.

(posted by Freeper Beautiful Gracious Skies)

“A prominent aide to George W. Bush’s 2000 campaign could barely contain himself when we asked him to discuss Cruz, who worked in the Bush campaign’s policy shop.

This person described Cruz as hyper-arrogant and widely despised, and he emphasized—over and over—that the pervasive dislike of Cruz within the Bush ranks had nothing to do with ideology.

(Cruz, he noted, never objected to Bush’s call for compassionate conservatism, immigration reform, and national education standards, and no one on the campaign regarded him as an ideologue.)

The problem was simple: Cruz’s personality.

“Ted thought he was an expert on everything,” says this campaign veteran, who asked not to be named. “He was a smart and talented guy, but completely taken with himself and his own ideas. He would offer up opinions on everything, even matters outside his portfolio. He was a policy guy, but he would push his ideas on campaign strategy. He would send memos on everything to everyone. He would come to meetings where he wasn’t invited—and wasn’t wanted.”

In fact, this Bush alum recalls, “the quickest way for a meeting to end would be for Ted to come in. People would want out of that meeting. People wouldn’t go to a meeting if they knew he would be there. It was his inability to be part of the team. That’s exactly what he was: a big a$$hole.”

“I don’t know anyone who had a decent relationship with Cruz.” And when Bush became president, his top campaign aides agreed Cruz should not be offered a job in the White House.

“No one wanted to work with him,” this source remembers. “George W. Bush couldn’t stand the guy.”

This person adds, “It’s a real quandary for Bush campaign people: Trump versus Cruz, who to vote for? And it would be a big quandary even if it’s Cruz versus Hillary Clinton. That’s how much they cannot stand him.”

Cartel Cruz, the Queen of BS.

He feeds his flock of geese, 24/7. “Look over there” is his moral philosophy and entire campaign. The geese love it.

Being from Kentucky, it’s just nice to see anybody call Mitch McConnell a liar in public. He’s such a weaselly little turd I can’t stand to see his face when his mouth is moving. Or any other time for that matter.

Notice Tricky Teddy doesn’t call McConnell a liar again when given the opportunity and also quit with the incendiary “Washington Cartel” bomb throwing.

McConnell also lied to voters so he would get reelected, and went back to his liberal ways. SHAME on McConnell.

Throwing conservatives a crumb once in awhile isn’t good enough, Sen. McConnell.

Anybody who likes “moderate” Republican - aka liberal - McConnell will also like Donald Trump.

Way too much venom and vicious infighting in the conservative ranks.

I think Mister Trump is an inarticulate, unqualified weasel.

That said, I would vote for him if he were the GOP nom (NOT an indy, it must be clear.)

And as low as my regard is for 9/11 truther and Planned Parenthood aficionado trump, I maintain a high regard for the trump supporters hereabouts. (That said, I get some very nasty insults directed in my direction. I learned to ignore all those wayy back in basic training.)

We are all on the Conservative team.

At this point, my worry is not that my candidate will not win the nom.

My major worry is that someone will run as an indy, and split the vote, and hand Hillary our fine country for her to wreck.

Some things are not worth saying. I liked it when Ted did that, I liked it a LOT. But I don’t believe for a second it did the cause of advancing conservatism any good whatsoever. Here’s a great article about it;

You need to read this article;

Honesty versus Brutal Frankness
http://rebirthofreason.com/Articles/Stolyarov/Honesty_versus_Brutal_Frankness.shtml

You end up harming yourself more than anyone else by saying things that though true harm your own self interests in a dishonest way. Like this;

.Ted Cruz talks about watching hardcore porn with his daughters in the audience (at the family town hall) .
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ML6lpDP8c20

T. CRUZ: He would be someone that you would be a fool not to look at seriously. He’s very, very talented. And, you know, you asked if Marco and I are friends. Let me tell you a story.

So last year, I wrote a book called “A Time for Truth.” And in the book, one of the chapters is talking about the year I spent as a law clerk at the Supreme Court. And it describes — the chapter begins with me watching pornography on the Internet with Sandra Day O’Connor, which was a bit of a bizarre experience.

(LAUGHTER)

It was the first of the Internet porn cases to go to the court, and the court librarians were showing the justices what the Internet was, and they’d pull it up, and the story I told, I was clerking for Chief Justice Rehnquist. They paired the chief justice and Justice O’Connor and their law clerks were in this little room looking at this computer screen that pulls up hardcore porn. And Justice O’Connor — I still remember, she leaned forward and she squinted and said, “Oh, my!”

But the Marco piece of this — so the book comes out and there were some — you know, reporters thought that was a funny story, so they wrote about that story. And I’m on a plane and Marco texts me and says, “Holy cow, you watched porn? Our oppo researchers missed that.”

(LAUGHTER)

Now that was funny. And listen, he’s got a good sense of humor. I laughed when he sent that text.

What Bill says in the tweets quoted below is so true. It's why Ted can't comprehend the strategic mistake he makes doubling down on something like calling McConnel a liar. That is NOT what leaders do. And it's why, like Donald JR says, politicians like Ted and their ilk "wouldn't last five minutes in business".

Trump is a deductive thinker - he begins with the goal and works back from there - no wasted motion - only what contributes to the result.— Bill Mitchell (REAL) (@mitchellvii) March 21, 2016

Guys like Cruz are inductive thinkers. They are so obsessed with the ideological front end, the actual result is an afterthought.— Bill Mitchell (REAL) (@mitchellvii) March 21, 2016
