Cruz eyes double-agent delegates in bid to snatch GOP nomination from Trump
The Washington Times ^ | 4/13/2016 | S.A. Miller

Sen. Ted Cruz’s hopes for winning the Republican presidential nomination outright have faded, and he has shifted to a strategy of gaming the rules, angling to send enough double-agent delegates to the July convention to snatch victory from front-runner Donald Trump.

It’s a major reversal for Mr. Cruz, who just weeks ago insisted he would win the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the nomination before the convention. But major wins in Utah, Wisconsin and Colorado have not closed the gap, with a series of East Coast primaries looming.

Now the best option for the senator from Texas is trench warfare at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

You're hopeless and hapless!

Many laughed at, condemned, and made fun of the Reagan JUST SAY NO thing, but drug use fell. THAT'S INFLUENCE SANS LAW!

By words and actions, Obama has turned this nation back to worse race relations than ever before, in modern history.

I could easily continue with such examples; however, the above two should suffice.

Obviously you are just fine and dandy and happy as a clam with the tyranny of the now far over the top PC crap. Most sane people aren't!

By precept and example, Trump has now empowered more and more people, even the college kids who now chalk TRUMP '16! and the courage to do what we all should have been doing for decades now, fighting against all of the devastation of not only our vocabularies, but our FREEDOM OF SPEECH!

Cruz talks a lot, but actually says NOTHING! His so-called plans are either old, not even refurbished, but made worse than the original garbage, UNWORKABLE nonsense such as the FAIR TAX and THE VAT! He has NO vision, he has NO concept of the world as it is, nor are his advisors any help.

By the time California rolls around, even IF ( and he won't ) Cruz won every single delegate, he still won't have the 1237! OTOH, Trump shall have the 1237, of pretty damned close to that number, with Jersey still to vote and NO WAY is Cruz doing any better than THIRD, there....IF KaSICKO is even still on that ballot and has all of the delegates on too, which at present he doesn't.

Politics just isn't your forte and you really should refrain from posting any more of your "feelings" and "wishes" and delusions.

No more outrageous that those who claim to speak for the entire eastern seaboard.

Here's the CA constituencies that will vote Cruz: gun owners, law enforcement, pro-lifers, Orange county conservatives, farmers and ranchers in the Central Valley.

Yes, it sure is and nobody is going to win that state with a any kind of a huge margin.

And as long as Trump gets some delegates, that's really all he'll need; unlike Teddy.

Right now, at this moment, Trump has 200+ more delegates than Cruz has.

Cruz is NOT going to get any delegates from N.Y. nor Ct.! Pa. is also a BIG win for Trump, and Delaware and Maryland are Trump states too, as is Rhode Island. These wins only make Trumps delegate count even LARGER than it is now, leaving Cruz flailing away in the dust. Trump also wins Jersey and gets some from California too.

Indiana is an I DON'T KNOW, because no news, NONE AT ALL, has pierced the veil from that state.

You're dreaming!

Those of us who "speak for the Mid-Atlantic states", do so with hard, cold facts! N.Y. shall be a blow-out for Trump; so too shall be Pa., Ct., and probably Rhode Island. Delaware and Maryland aren't quite as big, but still BIG!

You're over there on the LEFT COAST, don't pay any attention to the factual news about the other coast, neither know, understand, or cares about this side of the nation and have turned a blind eye to it all, because your boy is losing and doing so monumentally!

CA is horrid now and CA insists candidates spend $ Millions upon $ Millions in TV ads, radio ads and even Billboard in both English and Spanish (for crying out loud)!

I hope Mr. Trump doesn’t fall for that crap, although he will have to spend “some money” to knock Cruz and promote himself.

I’m thinking the amount of money he spends will depend on the number of delegates he needs to get from CA.

Thankfully, he will know the answer to that prior to the CA campaign.

As am I. So you know exactly what I am talking about. The conservative base in CA is Cruz country. You just don't want to hear it.

Ted is behaving like a petulant child

IF Ted is truly the anointed one that The Profit claims he is, then none of this would be necessary. If God has truly picked Ted as his wife Heidi claims, then none of this would be necessary.

The so called religious conservative has shown himself to be just another arrogant and self entitled member of the DC political class

I believe you are forgetting a strategic play common to the Clinton regime during their electioneering is to add opposition candidates to split the vote of their opposition.

Our system of nomination is more sophisticated. Whether or not Trump is another Perot doesn’t really matter. Trump cast himself in that position when he decided to enter politics in the same fashion. Cruz’s strategic actions IMHO are more patriotic than Trump’s.

Many laughed at, condemned, and made fun of the Reagan JUST SAY NO thing, but drug use fell. THAT'S INFLUENCE SANS LAW!

Indeed. So I ask again, you think Trump will have that level of influence when it comes to religious liberty?

Obviously you are just fine and dandy and happy as a clam with the tyranny of the now far over the top PC crap. Most sane people aren't!

I'm sane enough to realize that your methods are out of date. You seem wedded to this notion that the department store clerk wishing me a, "Merry Christmas" will solve the problem. You, Trump and O'Reilly.

By precept and example, Trump has now empowered more and more people, even the college kids who now chalk TRUMP '16! and the courage to do what we all should have been doing for decades now, fighting against all of the devastation of not only our vocabularies, but our FREEDOM OF SPEECH!

That's right. You failed. And because you failed to preserve the freedom of speech and religion we are now in a new phase where the battle is being fought in the courts. I don't see your vaunted college kids inhabiting the human rights commissions of the states or the DOJ.

We are not talking about tax policy. Try to stay on topic.

Politics just isn't your forte and you really should refrain from posting any more of your "feelings" and "wishes" and delusions.

By your own admission you failed. So you'll excuse me if I question your judgment on anything political and cultural. Decades of political activism and you've accomplished nothing. So now, in your twilight years and in your hysteria you throw the Trump Hail Mary pass.

Would have never believed it six weeks ago.

This isn’t a rag reporting. This is the Washington Times.

But the get out the vote effort in the generals is going to have to have a HUGE ground game.

Everyone get involved!!!

After 2 phone calls, 2 emails and help from an “insider”, I still haven’t heard back from the Trump people.

Now I’m gonna have to take my fat Italian @#$@#$ to Trump Towers directly.

Six bucks each way on the Express Bus!! :)

BTW, when I was for Cruz, I volunteered via email three times and never heard back.

I suspect the same on the dem side.

So much manpower neglected. The one who utilizes as close to 100 percent as possible will win.

>>Cruz has no honor. His belief that the presidency is his by divine right is scary.

This was always the thing about Cruz that bothered me. Whenever someone says that they’ve been sent by God to lead others, I get a little concerned. When they start to get followers who agree, I start looking for the door to escape. The Cruztians here are a good indicator of the temperament of his True Believers.
