Not this crap again - the headline is not even right. It was a Trump delegate who was immediately called and set straight by the RNC.
Dream on.

“Republican National Committee member Randy Evans said Wednesday that Donald Trump would likely be able to secure the Republican nomination if he captures anything more than 1,100 delegates, short of the 1,237 delegates needed for a simple majority.”

I'm wondering about those OH delegates. The way the rules have been rigged to favor insiders (irony's a *itch), Kasich cannot be nominated because he only won one state. Because of the OH rules, if Kasich isn't in contention, those winner-take-all delegates go to Trump, with his strong second place finish.

A few folks have said that's true; nobody has said it isn't.

Yeah I see that now. Doesn’t change the fact that he was called out on it.
Sorry!!!

Interesting. If accurate, the de facto Trump delegate count is in the 840 range, needing less that 400 delegates to clinch the nomination.

Thus far, we have been. Depending on what happens here in CO and at the National Convention, we may become slightly less so. But for now, yes, we are indeed being VERY reasonable.

Bad News for Cruz.

Not really. I guess Cruz only needs 65% of the remaining to get to 1100. So this stuff about being mathematically eliminated is untrue if you only need 1100.

This would be fair. Ted Cruz is down in the muck - with no hope of winning on the first ballot - trying to steal any votes he can for the second ballot. But I think that if Trump is very close to 1237 - even if he doesn’t have it totally clinched - will still be the nominee.

After the end of April Primaries in the Northeast, Cruz will be mathematically eliminated for 1237, 1100, or any other number you can dream up.

Full transcript of the snippet posted at the link:

“What I do expect to happen is this, is that if Donald Trump exceeds 1100 votes, he will become the Nominee, even though he may not have 1237. If he gets less than 1000 delegates, then I think we’re looking at a contested convention that could go on for many, many days. And then in the middle, there’s that gray area between 1000 and 1100, and that’s where the unbound delegates or the delegates that have been released by other candidates come into play, to see if there are enough of those to get either Cruz or Trump over the finish line.”

If the Colorado shenanigans were legal and according to the rules, then it is especially damning that the Colorado Republican establishment would consciously make rules to nullify the votes of the common voter.

In other words, they disenfranchised the voters.

It’s no different than Obama’s using regulatory agencies to reinterpret rules to suit his tast and....once again, the people be damned.
