NY Q-poll: Trump gets 55% six days out from primary
Hot Air ^ | April 13, 2016 | Ed Morrissey

In Wisconsin, Ted Cruz managed to engineer a 25-point flip in the gap against Donald Trump with intense campaigning — and no small amount of help from Trump himself. Six days out from the New York primary, however, no such momentum has materialized. In the latest poll from Quinnipiac, Trump still dominates with a majority against both Cruz and John Kasich, and looks set to win most if not all of the delegates. The race is closer in the Democratic primary, but still static:

...

Both primaries show a remarkable amount of stasis. As noted, this result is almost identical to the previous Q-poll, with Cruz and Kasich flipping the order on who got 19% or 20%. But it’s not just the Q-poll series, either, as one can see in the Real Clear Politics curation of polling in New York. It lists eight polls for April, and all eight have Trump with a commanding majority.

Don’t expect any change soon in that stasis, either:

So, Ted Cruz just sez to Beck, “Donald needs to understand he’s not Michael Corleone. I understand that Donald has had some very shady business deals with people that are currently in prison-mobsters.”

Both of my Grandparents {on my mother's side} came from Sicily and I had an uncle with a bent nose, but not all dagos are mobsters. Those of us that were mobsters, resent the implication that too many pansies are mobsters:)

My mother just did a 360 in her grave {buried in a Catholic cemetery beside my Dad} and she was very protective of her wayward brother. She was a demonRAT chairwoman, and even voted two times after she died.

I’m from NY. New York is a blue state. New York is a progressive state. This is a state where Republicans of today are really the old Blue Dog Democrats of yesteryear. It’s nothing to crow about except if you’re a Democrat at heart. Trump should do very well there.

“used to be heavily mafia, but it was one of the safest places to live”

Same with Boston’s North End..heavy Italian and Mafia, but you could walk through at 2:00am and not have a worry

Absolutely agree. Latino gangs have largely replaced the mob in many towns, especially in the LA area. Most of them don't even have standards as did the old mob.

My father-in-law's dad was a New York detective before discovering he could make a lot more money and with a lot more safety by moving to California as a private eye. Taking pictures of cheating husbands carried a lot less risk than infiltrating the mob, just to name one example.

While his family roots were Sicilian, he was a second generation Puerto Rican, so very handy for developing trust with two big communities in New York, back in the day.

What most people don't know is that lots of the locals respected the mob, sort of as a shadow or alternative government. They had standards. For instance, if there was an apartment fire or the like in their 'hood, they would be there with blankets, food carts and assistance to find alternative housing and such. And they wouldn't deal in drugs. Narcotics harmed kids and they drew the line there. If some freelancer showed up to deal in drugs, said dealer would often be found dangling from a lamp post early some cold morning a few days later. The police would investigate the stranger's execution, but not very diligently. You probably know what I mean.

Think Cruz is hoping to do well there too with his upcoming Manhattan fundraiser. Wonder if he’ll be crowing about that?

Yep. Used to be drugs were nearly non-available around here. A few sleezballs sold pot, but that was it. After “the change” more and more free-lance drug dealers popped up. At first it wasn’t too bad - then about 20 years ago ( about the time the IBM presence diminished greatly) the really bad characters began to flood up from the city. There was no one to stop them, and welfare was sooooo easy to sign up for in that county. Now it’s the heroin. I get info on that straight from first responders. On average there is at least one, but up to five ODs per day now. It would have been rare twenty years ago to have one per YEAR. I’d rather have the good old days of the “mob”.

If anyone is thinking that Manafort is just talking to Trump about delegates, they are sorely mistaken.

Corey Lewandowski was running the Trump campaign as a yes man, which is how he pushed out 3 people including Roger Stone.

Ever since Manafort showed up, the Trump campaign has gotten very quiet, focused and effective. More to come.

There are places which are conservative such as up State and Staten Island.

So, lets knock off the nonsense that Cruz is going to lose big because he is the real conservative.
