....one former Uber driver, Michael Pelletz, decided to create a woman-only ride-hailing service. It's called Chariot for Women, it's based in Boston, and it's scheduled to debut nationwide on April 19.
More than 1,000 women have already signed up as drivers. Pelletz, whose wife, Kelly, is the company's president, said he came up with the idea after a scary experience with an unstable passenger. He imagined how much more terrifying it would have been if he were a woman, and remembered that his wife had thought about driving for Uber but was too afraid to....
....There's also no surge pricing, transgender women are welcome as both drivers and passengers, and 2 percent of every fare will be donated to a "women-based" charity that customers can choose from a list.

True story: When I was teen me and a couple of friends were walking down the highway and one said “Why don’t we try hitchhiking?” I said “I’d be scared to ride with anyone who’d pick up three guys who look like we do”

There is profit to be had with segregation. It has a bad name but people self segregate all the time. Let ‘em.
I know a great way to irritate a feminist: tell her that the women-only rides are a great idea because of modesty.
In some Jewish & Muslim communities, women prefer women drivers because of the prohibition against being with men who are non-family members.
All you have to do is tell a feminist that your religion prohibits you from mingling freely with the opposite gender and she’ll complain about discrimination and gender-separation.
As long as the issue has nothing to do with God or religion, she will wholeheartedly support it. She wants life on her terms.
Pretty sure this kind of sex discrimination is already illegal.
