Barack Obama had no intention of intervening in Libya, and intentionally tried to run out the clock for Muammar Qaddafi. His plan almost succeeded as Qaddafi's tanks were about to roll into Benghazi to slaughter thousands and put down the rebellion, but the gallant French jumped the gun before the meeting with all the allies that was supposed to happen the next day, swooped in with their Rafales, and took out the tank columns, forcing Obama to finally commit our military to the fight.
