FBI spills the beans on how it hacked the iPhone to US senators
The US Justice Department is looking to file a court order to force Apple to help the FBI unlock an iPhone that was obtained as part of a New York drug dealing case, it has been reported on 9 April. The move follows a recent attempt in March to force the tech giant to crack an iPhone used by a terrorist in the December 2015 attacks in San Bernardino, California.
The San Bernardino order was reportedly dropped the US government said the FBI had unlocked the phone without the Apple's help.
Why advertise with us According to Sky News the dealer implicated in the latest case, Jun Feng, has since pleaded guilty and is due to be sentenced. The FBI is seeking to use the All Writs Act to force all companies to allow access to information held on their products or run through their services.
In a letter filed in a New York federal court, the Justice Department said: "The government continues to require Apple's assistance in accessing the data that it is authorised to search by warrant." Apple has said that they will take the new case to the Supreme Court.
The FBI claimed it was The All Writs Act that entitled it to attempt to force Apple to allow access to the phone of San Bernardino shooter Syed Farook in March, and wants to use in the future whenever technology moves ahead of current law.

Who would pay apple for their labor? If govt then apple should spend thousands of hours on this and in the end declare we just don’t know how to do it. It’s too secure. Then have the feds pay them millions for their efforts.
This is the slippery slope.
Terrorism? Yes.
Drug dealing? No.
Next it will be tax evasion or recycling code violations.

Just for clarification, that would NOT be the Federal Government paying Apple millions of dollars for their efforts, that would be you and I.

2) Is there convincing evidence suggesting that the iPhone in question contains data that would be connected to criminal activity?

3) Will a judge,having received sworn statements from investigators that #1 &2 are true,issue a warrant allowing access to the contents of the phone?

If it’s locked with a sufficient key, unlocking without knowing the key may very well be nigh unto impossible.
This isn’t opening a physical safe where diamond drill bits can open anything albeit at high cost.

Involuntary Servitude was outlawed a long time ago. the FBI has their warrant, they have access to the phone, they have the phone. It is Considered SLAVERY to DEMAND the Fruits of ones LABOR or FORCE THEM TO LABOR.
The judge ruled just the opposite. . . where have you been? Apple does NOT have possession of the contents of that phone, nor do they have any duty to assist. The government is overstepping their power and their restrictions established by Congress in the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act of 1994 which specifically PROHIBITED exactly what the FBI from forcing any communications company to do what they are trying to get Apple to do, which you claim Apple must do. The LAW says they cannot.
When you get your law degree and are appointed to an appellate bench, then maybe your insane opinion that goes against the ONLY actual court ruling on this question might hold some probative weight in these discussions. But until then, it means NOT ONE THING!

I see no mention of what type iphone is involved. Perhaps the Israelis told the FBI they could hack the terrorists iphone but that new models would be impossible.
