With a contested Republican convention looming, the fierce fight for delegates shifts to the key states of Colorado and Michigan this weekend, just as Donald Trump is scrambling to match the formidable delegate wrangling operation of Ted Cruz.
While Trump holds a wide lead over Cruz in the delegate count, the prospects for either candidate to win the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the nomination is looking increasingly slim after Cruz's win in Wisconsin. And the Texas senator is dominating the complex, behind-the-scenes race for delegates at state conventions like the recent one in North Dakota.

the allegiances of the Colorado delegates will be uncertain right up to the first vote at the national convention.
"In the March caucuses, the party chose not to hold a straw poll so the state's delegates are free to choose the candidate they feel deserves support right up to the eve of the national convention in July."
The delegates who want to go to National have a history of telling their fellows who are voting for them (at the state convention) whatever they want to hear. For all we know, we could have another batch of Ron Paul supporters.
I’m not convinced that Cruz’s delegate farming operation is as formidable as the press would have the readers believe. I see these stories in the same light I see polls, primary function is to form public opinion aqnd modify public behavior.
One candidate is organized and knows how the system works....the other, not so much.
“the prospects for either candidate to win the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the nomination is looking increasingly slim after Cruz’s win in Wisconsin.”
Slim for Ted
Very doable for Donald
You mean in before all the I wont vote for Cruz because he cheats people. The same people who have not gone and became a delegate people because it is to much work people.
HERE'S HOW CRUZ FINAGlED HIS PALTRY DELEGATES---through chicanery, tricks and outright fraud:
<><> Texas MSM reported dozens of voting irregularities in the Texas Republican primary. This ultimately totaled over 600 reports in at least six counties including Dallas County and Travis County. In virtually every case votes cast for Donald J. Trump were tallied for Senator Marco Rubio.
<><> Even though @realDonaldTrump won delegates in Texas the @TedCruz- @georgepbush #RickPerry cabal is refusing to slate Trump supporters.)
<><> Cruz lost Louisiana but poached ten more delegates than Trump. Watch for this to happen everywhere
<><> the Iowa fiasco where Cruz stole Ben Carson/s delegates by lying....telling his voters Carson was dropping out, telling them to caucus w/ Cruz.
<><> In Utah w/ Beck and Romney running the show, the Cruz team emailed supporters the day of the caucus, telling them they can vote absentee that day.......in violation of state law.
<><> The Trump Ballot Security Project's 800 number to collect further reports of voter irregularities got 300 complaints from Oklahoma; the Kansas and Maine Caucuses brought hundreds of more complaints including claims of double voting by supporters of Sen. Ted Cruz.
Yes very slim for the guy who will be mathematically eliminaTED in 10 days.
It makes sense for Colorado to go for Cruz with his stated position that the states have their own constitutional right to legalize marijuana. Trump seems to have adopted Krispy Kremes position that the first day on the job he would take Federal action to stop that.
At least thats what I think I read online somewhere that that is Trumps position, although nit necessarily on his first day.
Vote Trump!
The same rules apply to Trump also. Just in case you didn’t know.
Ignorance is not a virtue.
Thanks for that info on how cRuz finagled the paltry delegates and the TX info.
Pinging Rita, as well.
Michiganders aren’t going to play like those in Colorado.
After all the Tigers won their season home opener yesterday and we’re expecting 3-5 inches of snow tomorrow.
After that no one I know here likes Cruz even a small bit.
Another useless thread. This guy is a fool.
Nobody likes him but he got 24.9% in the election.
Please use facts and not what ever you want to make up.
One candidate is as sleazy and corrupt as the system who created him.
