While we all very capable of discerning the 'recovery' facts from the peddled recovery fiction throughout President Obama's reign...
...a close up over the last six months suggests things are getting worse in a hurry. As The Economic Collapse blog's Michael Snyder details, while most people seem to think that since the stock market has rebounded significantly in recent weeks that everything must be okay, that is not true at all.
Has the U.S. economy gotten better over the past six months or has it gotten worse? In this article, you will find solid proof that the U.S. economy has continued to get worse over the past six months. Unfortunately, most people seem to think that since the stock market has rebounded significantly in recent weeks that everything must be okay, but of course that is not true at all. If you look at a chart of the Dow, a very ominous head and shoulders pattern is forming, and all of the economic fundamentals are screaming that big trouble is ahead. When Donald Trump told the Washington Post that we are heading for a very massive recession, he wasnt just making stuff up. We are already seeing lots of things happen that never take place outside of a recession, and the U.S. economy has already been sliding downhill fairly rapidly over the past several months.

Some jubilee it’s going to be.
“Burning down the house in 2016.”

That’s why the idea of the year of Jubilee must be understood on a spiritual, and not material, level
The events you describe occur in NJ all the time; there wasn’t even a “false recovery” here. Private schools are closing, and in some cases used by the public school system; otherwise they sit vacant as the state is slowly being evacuated anyway.
I’m not sure how they measure it, but I’m glad to see it publicized how much blacks have lost under Obama. For the most part this is beyond repair, because without basic English literacy there is no reason to hire them over an imported Hispanic.
After working for decades, I’m convinced that without government hiring (both directly and through government contracts) the black unemployment rate is 95%.
Will the spiritual Jubilee happen before or after billions of bullets are fired into living flesh?
When The Music Stops: How America’s Cities May Explode In Violence
Do not know where you are located but you can read about daily job cuts, bankruptcy, and store closings here, I find it the most alarming site on the internet.
What is that?
It looks like you wrote it, but it appears to have been posted by someone named “yojimbo”.
Probably after. Nothing in scripture confirms the presence of the West in the last days.
About the only improvement was in gasoline prices, and they’re going back up now.
The ‘improvement’ in Gasoline prices was solely do to oil Fracking which pushed huge amounts of oil into the US and world markets.
Despite the low prices, the economy was crap in most of the country EXCEPT for those oil producing states. Then the Saudi’s dumped HUGE amounts of oil into the world market to destroy the US fracking industry and those states lost all of the jobs they created. With the loss of the jobs, that decreased US usage of oil and continued to depress the price of oil.
Now that the ‘competition’ of the Saudis has effectively been eliminated for the near future, we are seeing a slow but steady increase in the cost of oil.
We are getting hammered in multiple directions economically. Even low gas prices won’t help us now.
In fact we are so bent on not contributing to our economy we are beginning our search for a better place, Texas or Panama.
We are being massively threatened by the laws being passed by the partisan democrats in the state house and senate in Oregon. We are landlords of a few apartments, they are passing laws that are risking our investment, renting to criminals, or loose your property is one being considered. Giving tenants 60 days for a no cause eviction is risking the condition of our properties. Forcing us to accept section 8 vouchers regardless of the applicant. Massively violating our property rights, the bedrock of our country's foundation.
We were taught and encouraged to save and plan for retirement, we took that more serious as we have always been self employed. We have passive income from our 15 year investments that we can retire without our SS checks. Now they are condemning us for having more than our tenants and it is not fair. Forcing us into situations that risk our property to seizure or destruction by criminals and section 8 single mothers.
Oregon is one of those states which, like California, has a very ‘progressive’ legislature. I have heard that many are picking up and moving from ‘progressive’ states and moving to no or low tax states.
I do not have specific advice for your ‘nest egg’ other than you are doing the right thing by conserving it and living frugally.
Thank you Nachum for your encouraging words. One good thing, we do have the money to move to a state more friendlier to self supporting citizens.
Ping, please
