The downside to staging a photo op of your candidate riding on New York Citys subway system ahead of the New York state primary is that a lot of TV cameras are there if they fail to actually get on the subway.
Hillary Clinton had to swipe her Metrocard fives times in order to get past the turnstile as CNN and MSNBC cameras watched on. All told, it took Clinton about twenty seconds to figure out how to get through.

All staged. So phony baloney.
Broom not working?
Couldn’t get her thighs thru the turnstiles?
But no one except us will ever see it.
Conversely back when George H. W. Bush was amazed to see a grocery store checkout scanner in operation, the media assaulted us with the footage 24/7.
Couple things.
One, her hair looks just like Donald Trump’s - hah!
Two, why so they so these stupid stunts. She goes in through the gate (after a bit of fumbling) and then all the Secret Service go in via the security gates.
Why doesn’t she just go in by the gate?
Like she needed to go on the subway.
As much as I despise GHW Bush, you are probably aware that supermarket scanner story was a lie concocted by Andrew Rosenthal of the NY Times.
Want to know how that fabrication affected the Rosenthal's career? He is currently the Editorial Page editor of the NYT.
At that point I knew just who and what Hillary Clinton is.
Yeah, she’s a NYker. How did that ass get past the turnstile in the first place.
Hillary was confused because the turnstile at the doorway to Bill’s bedroom required entrants to flash something else (not that she ever did).
I never heard the story about the Cancer ward...any more details?...thx
The web scrubbing of the story is pretty thorough! It took some hunting.
American Spectator Magazine, circa 1997.
“We’re gonna need a bigger turnstile...”
Yes, George Bush senior was lampooned. Here’s the story:
He went to a grocery store, and was fascinated by the bar code scanner, which he had never seen before...and revealed that he was so out of touch, he hadn’t been in a grocery store for at least 10 years.
Oh, here’s the real story:
This was not a store at all, but a trade show where a vendor was demonstrating his bar code scanner. He was trying to show off improved features, such as an ability to read damaged codes and prevent accidental double scans. The guy was proud to show it off to the president, and Bush was a good audience, expressing interest in the product.
The whole story was a sham from the get go.
Yeah, but those are for sandwiches fed to the masses, something else she'd be unfamiliar with.
/On my visit to NYC, I concluded the same. My question: where no subway station at Laguardia?

Of course is was a lefty concoction.
Right- and so much for being the ‘smartest woman in the world’
