A proposal to stop the teardown of Louisianas Confederate monuments and step into an ongoing fight in New Orleans has failed to win support in the state Senate, blocked by Democratic lawmakers.
Sen. Beth Mizell, a Republican who lives 70 miles north of New Orleans, sought to create a state commission to sign off on monument removals. She told senators: History is bigger than a single community or the mood of a moment.
The argument failed to sway Democrats on the committee, all of whom are black.

My recent trip to New Orleans will be my last one if the historical monuments start coming down.

These are the same type of City Officials that tell a home owner that they may not alter their private property in any way without the city’s permission if it is considered historical.

These were the city officials who got out of Dodge when Katrina hit. My bet is each one of them made out like bandits and got paid first.
