In the GOP race, Cruz is now five points ahead of Donald Trump (40% to 35%) with John Kasich at 21%. Two weeks ago, Cruz had a 1 point lead over Trump (36%-35%).
If Cruz is the primary winner, he will win 15 delegates, Cruz is also ahead in five of the eight congressional districts where three delegates will be awarded to the winner of each district. Trump is ahead in the third district 49%-24%, while the second and fourth districts appear to be toss-ups between all three of the candidates.
In contrast, both Sanders and Clinton hold very high favorable rating among likely Democrat voters with Sanders at 83% and Clinton at 70%. The poll suggests that the open Democrat primary will consists of 68% of registered Democrats and 28% Independents. Clinton leads Sanders 50%-45% among registered Democrats but trails Sanders 62% to 32% among Independents. Early voting also favors Sanders 52% to 38%.

Well, looks like this State in going down the crap hole. They have no idea who will save America.
Trump for President.
The numbers don’t lie. The majority of voters in those states declined to pull the lever for Cruz. And by April 26th, Cruz will be mathematically eliminated by being unable to acquire sufficient delegates to win the nomination.
Cruz called on Kasich to drop out for that very reason, will Cruz take his own advice, or will he play the hypocrite?
If Cruz wins the popular vote in Wisconsin (not a given) then the delegate margin remains virtually unchanged. The only thing Wisconsin is being used for it to try and diminish Trump so that it’s more palatable for the establishment to insert Ryan as the nominee....and of course Cruz sold out and is helping to bring this about.
The Cruz people don’t want to think about those States.

Why is everything a conspiracy? Why can’t it be what Cruz says it is. A simple Trump - Cruz nomination battle in Cleveland? From Cruz’s point of view, why not try? He either wins the nomination or sets himself up for the next election cycle. The republican primaries have a history that rewards prior candidates (Such as Nixon, Reagan, GH Bush, Dole, McCain and Romney). So Cruz has nothing to lose by going all out, even to the extent of a convention fight. Sometimes things are what they say they are imo.
I want to add one thing about Cruz being a spoiler. I seriously don’t think Cruz wants to see Hillary/Bernie appoint the next set of judges. I’m sure he would support Trump 100% no matter what. Anything that is said between now and the nomination is just campaigning.
That would be believable if hadn't brought all the players from the establishment into his campaign. And as soon as he did his message stopped being anti-establishment and became stop Trump. Best case scenario is that the establishments goal to stop Trump and Cruz's ambition are on the same path. But that's not likely. He's taking money and assistance from the establishment players and they're going to get a payoff.
Trying to point out the last time we heard about Cruzmentum and everyone got all excited
As a Cruz supporter, you've now convinced me I must vote for Trump. <\sarcasm>
I think the people who suggest that Cruz is going to somehow become the leader of the race if he wins (the relatively small) Wisconsin are being foolish. Sure, it would be a setback for Trump, but hardly a killing one.

Should he have turned down their support? If so, how would he win a contested nomination fight in Cleveland? Wanting to win means accepting help from those you can get. Why does it mean he will compromise and govern against his conservative positions?
If he was a principled conservative he could have said "You know, Jeb Bush and his supporters...the Washington cartel....came up and wanted to be part of my campaign. I told them no. The cartel has controlled our government too long. This campaign is about conservatism. It's about the future of our country. It's about taking our country back from the entrenched Washington political class."
IF he had done that I can guarantee that every Trump supporter would be backing Cruz instead right now. But he didn't. He caved. He sold out for money and likely for a comfy future somewhere. He's Judas.
I still don’t understand why you are convinced he will govern like a moderate republican just because he accepted help from guys like Jeb Bush. Reagan took the support of the establishment that didn’t want him in either 1976 or 1980. He didn’t cave in to them. Why does Cruz have to abandon him convictions? IMO he doesn’t. Why can’t those guys still dislike Cruz, but decide he’s better than Trump? Why can’t the establishment types believe the polling data that Trump will lose in a landslide of epic proportions in November, taking down many house and senate candidates with him?
It is possible for both Cruz and the moderate republicans to have a common interest without Cruz needing to cut a secret deal. The logic I just stated makes perfect sense. You as a Trump supporter don’t believe he will lose in a landslide. But the polling data says he will. And if the establishment guys believe it, then backing Cruz is completely logical. I see zero evidence that Cruz will moderate his views. You assume he will, by who he gets support from. I prefer the simple analysis that Cruz and the establishment have a common interest in stopping Trump. No more, no less.
I am up northern WI this week, and on the way up here (except for one barn in the middle of the state that had TRUMP painted on it), I must have seen 100 Bernie signs. No Hillary, no Cruz. One Trump barn and 100 Bernie signs.
Granted, that was just hwy 51 to hwy M and in around the town here
There are even a few Bernie signs on the lake front that I am on.
Different dynamic. Reagan wasn't campaigning against the Washington cartel. He was campaigning for conservatism and against liberalism. His campaign and later his administration was stacked with conservatives. Cruz's campaign isn't stacked with conservatives. It's stacked with liberal to moderate Republicans. Unlike Reagan he's already abandoned every principle of his campaign. Cruz isn't promoting conservatism. He isn't fighting against the Washington establishment anymore. He's executing exactly what the establishment wants him to execute...stop Trump at all costs. The fact that the core of his campaign is so easily discarded is telling of his future policies.
You as a Trump supporter dont believe he will lose in a landslide. But the polling data says he will,
This far out it's meaningless. Reagan was going to lose in a landslide as well. The fact is that Trump fights. He won't back down in the face of attacks. He will counter attack. It should be obvious that Trump will mop the floor with Clinton. She is the weakest candidate possible but she will beat any republican except Trump because they don't care. Their "decorum" is more important then actually winning and if they lose it doesn't really matter because things will essentially stay the same. That's not Trump's mindset.
Oops! Sorry I missed that.
