Cruz snaring Trump's Arizona delegates
Washington Examiner ^ | 04/04/16 | David M. Drucker

Sen. Ted Cruz is out-hustling Donald Trump and looks set to ensure many Arizona delegates will defect to him in a convention floor fight.

The Texas senator, who ever since Iowa has played a stealthy ground game in contrast to Trump's chaotic populism, is taking steps to snatch the Republican presidential nomination from The Donald at the convention in July.

The New York businessman easily won last month's Arizona primary taking 47 percent to Cruz's 25 percent, scooping up all 58 of the state's delegates. That's nearly 5 percent of the 1,237 Trump needs for the nomination, and they're tied are to him on the first ballot.

But Cruz, exploiting deep opposition to Trump among grassroots Republicans, has been far more active in Arizona than Trump, insiders say. He's recruiting candidates for the available 55 delegate slots, that along with the other three delegate positions filled by party leaders, would be allowed to vote for him in a multi-ballot contested convention.

RE:”On a side note - Trump has already set himself up to be head of a Shadow Party, like in England.”

If Trump helps Hillary get elected after he loses the nomination, if he does, then that just confirms that he is still best friends with the Clintons, and his whole purpose was to get her elected again like he helped her in the past.

And his supporters are either libs or even worse, dupes.
The most gullible ones in the history of the US.

RE:”The nastycruzers who are in favor of this are working to elect the Uniparty’s REAL choice - Hillary Clinton.”

Of the two candidates I only see Trump supporters here saying they will support Hillary, obviously their second choice, if Trump loses the nomination.

And that makes perfect sense considering how Trump helped the Clinton's get elected in the past.

That he was working with them all along.

I can’t even write on here what I think of those who actually said they were against the establishment and now support the establishment and their corruption.
I know for a fact if this happened to their guy there would be outrage, but they have become arty, establishment hypocritical hacks and I will leave it at that what I think before I am, banned.

It’s more than obvious now that Ted Cruz was never anti-establishment. He may have played one in beltway kabuki performances but that’s it. The pro-RNC just following the “rules” comments of his supporters prove beyond any doubt that TPA Teddy is a bought and paid for establishment career politician.

Recall Cruz campaigned openly with Amnesty Ryan on TPA just last year. Nothing anti-establishment about that at all. The mask is off Ted Cruz and only those with Cruz loving eyes can’t see it.

Go to Trump’s website & find which of his policy positions are not “conservative” Then tell us all about them.

Oh yeah...Trump is risking his life & his family’s life every friggin day of this campaign & busting his ass for a year, just so he can garner all this enthusiasm so he can go third party & hand the presidency to his buddy Shrillary. You don’t you realize how dumb you sound.

So to Ted fans
So I guess Hillary can pull the same s*** in the Electoral College if she needs to

After all they’re just delegates too and they have the right to change their vote and not represent the voter that put them there

that’s the whole thing about a representative government the people vote delegate or congressman or senator to go represent their interests

but then again this is typical GOPe we kept saying we voted these guys in and then they didn’t really represent our interest ...so same old crap

and the weasel that play is kind of games ... you Cruzer love it right up to the time he pulls it on you should he ever get an office ......there’s no honor among Thieves... the guy that steals for you will steal from you

he’s recruiting people to be unloyal to the people that voted them in on a massive scale.... so what makes you think Ted won’t disloyal against you Ted voter interest and want... side with the GOPe in the big money interest when he needs to??? ........He showing his ethics...

Spot on. Bishop Romney prefers Hillary to Trump. No doubt we would have a few jumpin Jim Jeffords in the GOP electoral college if it was close and the blueblood GOPe felt in their interest to flip the vote for a Democrat.

Trump was always just the road plow for Cruz. The whole Trump thing took on a life of its own and he’s been trying to throw it ever since and no one will bite.

That's reasonable. The choice at the beginning was establishment versus some other establishment. Were it not for Trump stealing the media, Cruz would be an also-ran by now. Instead Cruz could pick up conservative votes while staying outside of media sniper range. Now we have a very reasonable choice of Trump or Cruz. All the alternatives would have been Hillary's lunch.

Granted Cruz will have a tougher time getting out the vote. E.g. here in Virginia a lot of country voters stay home mainly because they are lazy (although pretending to be in rebellion). Trump will probably fire up a good number of blue collar voters. He should win Ohio. I'm not sure about Virginia, but I will be trying to help. Cruz would have a tough time winning either.

What Ted is doing is not illegal, improper or immoral. It’s how we Republicans (and many of you may no longer consider yourselves Republicans) choose a party nominee.

All you Trumpers can avoid this teeth gnashing and try to get your guy over the 1237 delegate count. But don’t complain that Cruz and Kasich are playing the better ground game.

You presume this is a fair fight. Was it Trump and his elected GOP supporters meeting in secret with rich DEMOCRATS to “Stop Cruz” a few weeks ago in Georgia? Of course not. It was GOPe meeting in secret with rich Dems to “stop Trump”

It’s clear there isn’t a dimes worth a difference between Ted Cruz Republicans and Democrats now. Uniparty indeed. How pathetic is that?

Now, that's just a complete and utter lie, sickoflibs.

I guess we can expect that from a nastycruzer who's ALL IN on getting Hillary elected to secure more Washington DC power for their guy Cruz...

Oh I see it.

But.

Trump isn’t going to change that system. He’s been part of it his whole life.

I would be a die hard supporter of Trump based on what he says... If I believed him.

His schtick is a con. He’s making a deal with me now. Later?

This is GREAT NEWS for the Republic.
Trump and his supporters cannot play by the rules. Trump has been out maneuvered and out politiced over and over by Constitutional Conservative Cruz.
I find it amazing that people just do not get it The Blonde Obama just can’t cut it.
All those peons spreading lies and rumors about Cruz will get their just reward. Trump supporters are the meanest nastiest, most vile individuals on the planet. The things they do and say are despicable.

I wish we could see in to the future like you are able to, LOL. You or I absolutely have no clue how Trump would serve as President. He's already done some good things like put the GOP establishment on notice (that's a huge plus defeating the GOPe with a Trump Presidency). Ford Motor Company decided not to move a plant to Mexico because he spoke out what he'd do to companies like that if elected. He's funded his own campaign for the most part and is not owned by Wall St like all the other candidates.

I've read many personal endorsements from people that worked for him or with him and all glowing reports that they liked working for him and he means what he says. That is great news for building a wall and being serious about curbing illegal immigration. He says he will stand up for the 2nd Amendment among other things.

You are free to ignore all that but don't try to tell me he is a con man when if you do some research, he is not. The man is a Patriot for taking on so much corruption.

Donald Trump’s past isn’t conservative nor is it anti-establishment. There’s no record to base your hope for change on.

Ted Cruz does have a record and despite people here who’ve bought into campaign rhetoric, that record is firmly conservative.

I know what I’ll get with both. We here at FR tried to warn 8 years ago that people were writing a blank slate on a Presidential candidate and he had a sufficient record to prove otherwise. The same is true today.

If Trump is nominated, he will disappoint you, early and often. You will come to regret your support. His past is prologue of what’s to come, and that’s not conservative.

Keep pretending like Ted Cruz is the most principled conservative because the more he is vetted, the more he shows he is not. The more he shows he is just another professional politician that is part of the GOP establishment and owned by Wall St.

The Ted Cruz principled conservative ship sailed long ago if you would come out of your identity politics and see him for what he really is. He is also one of the worst candidates I have seen in a long time.

For whatever reason, there is a crazy group of you Ted Cruz supporters that cannot stand seeing him being vetted and ignore all the vetting that has been done here and elsewhere. I WAS a Cruz supporter at one time too. At least there are the sane ones out there that have seen it and it has been reflected in FR's Daily Caucus. In the last couple of months, Cruz's support here has tanked and we're left to deal with a crazy few of you.

Well, it sure seems like it with the lot of you. Since Cruz and the establishment has identified him as a principled conservative, it seems that is all you see and ignore all the vetting that has gone on that disproves much of it. It's all over Free Republic and elsewhere. Cruz is a terrible candidate and not the principled conservative he was sold to us but if you want to be blind to that, go right ahead and continue to help the corrupt GOP establishment. Because that is what it comes down to.

Apple, your predictions, generalizations, epiphanies, prophesies, etc aren’t rooted in reality. The story isn’t that big, there’s no women coming forward, and NE is a sleazy tabloid.
You’re simply gleefully celebrating in your own world that Cruz is finished because of this, but it’s speculation pure and simple. I’m not a Cruzer, Trumpbot or whatever, but I can see blind support and schadenfreude a mile a way. Your posts reek of it.
