Cruz snaring Trump's Arizona delegates
Washington Examiner ^ | 04/04/16 | David M. Drucker

Sen. Ted Cruz is out-hustling Donald Trump and looks set to ensure many Arizona delegates will defect to him in a convention floor fight.

The Texas senator, who ever since Iowa has played a stealthy ground game in contrast to Trump's chaotic populism, is taking steps to snatch the Republican presidential nomination from The Donald at the convention in July.

The New York businessman easily won last month's Arizona primary taking 47 percent to Cruz's 25 percent, scooping up all 58 of the state's delegates. That's nearly 5 percent of the 1,237 Trump needs for the nomination, and they're tied are to him on the first ballot.

But Cruz, exploiting deep opposition to Trump among grassroots Republicans, has been far more active in Arizona than Trump, insiders say. He's recruiting candidates for the available 55 delegate slots, that along with the other three delegate positions filled by party leaders, would be allowed to vote for him in a multi-ballot contested convention.

If you don’t like the process in place, then you need to work to eliminate the two party system. Political parties make their own rules, not the states, not the federal government. Even if their was a “major” third party, it would be the same. I’m not defending this system, but it is what it is until changed by we the people.

Rumor has it it’s not Ted’s BC that could be the issue, but his mother’s

Ted's mother's BC has been available online for months. So anyone spreading a rumor that there is a problem with her BC either can't be bothered to research a bit, or doesn't care that they are spreading debunked nonsense.

Cruz is a constitutional conservative

Bull, what makes you think that? Because he says he is? Actions speak louder than words. Pro amnesty, until Trump. Pro TPA/TPP until that turned unpopular. Pro Patriot Act. Cruz is not a constitutional conservative.

A Cruzer taking about the Constitution? Oh the irony.

There is no way in he[[ that Ted Cruz is an natural born citizen (NBC) under original intent. The founders would find the argument that the son of a Cuban, born in Canada is a NBC of the USA ridiculous.

If Ted Cruz actually believed in Constitution he would not be running!

The only thing Ted Cruz believes in is Ted Cruz.

no it is petty and childish, but you seem to have no problem with that.

As for delegate hunting, so you are for bribing and promising them freebies while they can ignore the will of the voter?

If so as you seem to be then if Kasich does this then will you be alright with that?

I know I don’t want to see you or any other establishment troll or hack,or acting surprised your guy got screwed over as you voted for this crap in the first place.

“They are taking away our vote.
this, unfortunately, is nothing new...”

The only thing new is that now we know they are doing it. What will we do about it?

You can show a Cruz supporter the current list of women but it's up in the air if any of them gave him chlamydia trachomatis.

Even though a woman (or women) have not come forward as yet to confirm these rumors of infidelity, Cruz now finds himself in the precarious position of having a lifelong cloud of cheating hanging over his head.

And worse still, if Cruz by some chance wins the general election in November, we'd then have a President -whose past- will forever be associated with that of a cheating husband. Not an enviable position for a United States President.

Do you have any idea how many presidents have been accused of infidelity = not to mention those who have been PROVEN to be unfaithful to their wives? Barring any actual proof, I doubt that many people other than Trumpkins are going to put much credence into a NE story.

But if you think that an unfaithful husband is not fit for the presidency, then may I assume that you are not supporting Trump? After all, he is the only one in the race that we know for sure has committed adultery many times.

I believe that some of the delegates remain bound on the second ballot.

On the first ballot (or in a handful of states beyond that), bound delegates will have to vote for the candidate they are bound to. But if no candidate gets a majority on the first vote, then it gets interesting. Delegates bound to one candidate but aligned with another could then be crucial.

One could surmise that Mr. Cruz believes he will not have the requisite 1,237 delegates by June, and has already started the process of securing the needed majority for subsequent rounds of voting at the convention.

The solution for Mr. Trump is to get the required 1,237 delegates before the convention.

Ummmm...Trump is on his 3rd wife. He has admitted to cheating on his wives. He ditched them for mistresses. He had pictures of his naked, handcuffed girlfriend (later wife) taken on his plane and published in a magazine. Trump’s smear campaign against Cruz is so disgusting. It is obviously an attempt to try and drag Cruz down to his level.
