Based on current delegate counts and poll numbers Ted Cruz will be mathematically unable to reach the delegate count required for him to win the Republican Presidential nomination. By the end April it will be clear that Ted Cruz has no chance of reaching the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination.
” Although I like Cruz, at this point all that he does by staying in is raise the possibility that Trump will not win on the first ballot and thus allowing the GOPe pick someone else than either of them on a subsequent ballot.”
I would prefer just about anyone to Trump. I think Trump will lead Republicans into losing the House & Senate, along with losing the Presidency to a satanic harpie.
Get out side the echo chamber of Trump-mania and talk to normal people about Trump.
I also think Trump will turn on conservatives. He has no THOUGHTS on anything. A man who supported DeBlasio in 2013 is NOT a conservative!
Knowing the rules is part of the game...if you want play basketball don't show up with a soccer ball!!
Facts only irritate them!!
And here you are doing the same thing. Reagan didn't do the honorable thing, but he's and honorable man. Cruz takes the same position and you heap scorn on him and call him names. It's 1976 all over again and you're playing the role of the GOPe. Nice.
And now they're all upset because their first time politician isn't smart enough, or is to darn cheap actually, to buy a ground game, that could somehow overcome his loud mouth that has pi$$ed off every one who might actually get elected as a delegate.
There is a reason that most politicians start with local elections and work their way up. But somehow, the not so brighters here thought Trumpy was ready for primetime.
Now that's funny... especially when they whine about it. :)
What about when they lying GOPee threaten to change the rules, during the game?
It’s hard to play fair, when you’re playing against cheaters.
When did Reagan steal delegates and make GOPe deals again like Cruz?
I missed that part in my History channel.
Did Nancy also work for Goldman Sachs?
If Mr. Trump does not have 1237 bound delegates at the beginning of the convention, Senator Cruz will quite likely win on the "first ballot". Senator Cruz knows this as does Mr. Trump. The belated recognition of this unpleasant fact is the reason the Trump camp is so worked up.
Current Delegate Count:
Donald Trump - 736
Ted Cruz - 463
No crying here! :-D
Have you ever wondered why your pollster Eno is confined to the campaign tactical wing for Cruz, but is included nowhere among professionals, outside of the Cruz camp?
Cruz is dead in the water. Trump will have to be slayed to stop. But have at it, join the killing of the popular vote. Bring America down. Join the snakes.
“... after being mathematically eliminated ...”
That’s not the way it works. If nobody reaches 1237 delegates, then there is a vote among delegates at the national convention. If Trump doesn’t receive 1237 delegates, then delegates are free to vote for Cruz. Cruz can win with fewer than 1237 delegates going into the national convention. Those are the rules that have been in place, that everyone has agreed upon.
What’s even more funny...is watching whiners like you come here to trash not just Trump supporters....but the forum, itself.
You are whining...doing the exact thing you seem to be complaining about. Deflect/distract. Hmmm....sounds so familiar...where’ve I seen that, recently?
Oh, yes....from cRuz, himself.
Yep, Ford was selected and not elected. How did that work out for him in the first actual election where he had to get votes? Oh yeah, Carter.
I’m not trashing the forum. I’ve been here longer than you have. There are MANY great things about this forum. Starting with the UI. It’s excellent. And really, I’m not trashing the trumpsters. I just think they’re kinda funny... and some of them will be sore losers when Trumpy loses the runoff? Which will you be?
Cruz shouldn’t drop out until and unless Trump get to 1237+.
That is when the nomination is settled not before.

CRUZ is a sniveling snake.
He tells Kasich to drop out, because he cannot mathematically reach 1237, but this raging Hypocrite, Cruz, will not do what he is asking another candidate to do.
Scum ball.
I understand why you resolutely avoid my question. Calling Cruz a bastard for doing the same thing Reagan did exposes your flagrant inconsistency. Trump may still prevail and I will support him if he does. But I want an election, not a coronation. If Trump was as smart as he tells us he is, he would put the people in place to stop the poaching of delegates. But Trump is not running a smart campaign and is trying to save his way to prosperity. Both of those things should bother you. If he won't fight in the trenches now, he will get crushed by the dem machine. If he doesn't spend money now to protect what he has worked so hard to achieve, what makes you think he will spend at least $500 million to win in November?
You aren’t trashing the forum?

I know... this site is filled with sore loser, whinning, crybabies.
Btw, I could care less how long you’ve been here. Longevity doesn’t make up for your hypocrisy. Like I said....if you don’t like the climate, here, you are free to go elsewhere.
"Mr Trump, if you don't have a mathematical path to 1237 after April 26, will you drop out?"
But NO ONE will ask Cruz that question. NO ONE.
