Donald Trump admitted to The New York Times on Saturday that retweeting an unflattering photo of Heidi Cruz was a mistake and that he would not do it again if given the opportunity.

"Yeah, it was a mistake," he told columnist Maureen Dowd. "If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have sent it."

Dowd was asking about an incident last month in which Trump retweeted a picture of Cruz, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's wife, during a spat involving a nude photo of Trump's wife, Melania, that was circulated by an anti-Trump super PAC.

his? since that would be illegal you would need strong proof to get him to apologize.

On a serious note, I am glad trump did this. Thought he went too far with the abortion retraction saying current laws should stay, but this is good that he admits mistakes!

people can be very forgiving and there is a long way to go for him to change his image a little to those who would vote for him but are on the fence.

Will Ashley Cruz apologize to FReepers for allowing the
vote on SECRET ObamaTRADE?

How about for lying about the doctor at the caucus through
his ex-GF?

Make America Awesome isn’t Cruz’s Super PAC. It’s an anti-Trump Super PAC. Cruz isn’t responsible for their actions, so no apology would be necessary or appropriate.

The one that isn’t his and he couldn’t coordinate with if it was? That one?

And those that complain that he never admits making a mistake.

Only real men can admit making a mistake.

SuperPACs are, by definition and law, not part of the campaign.

He can still comment on them and possibly condemn tactics if he was a real man.
