Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced legislative proposals that would have radically expanded Muslim migration into the United States, when Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) was pushing to open Americas borders in 2013, the Washington Examiners Paul Bedard noted in a new exposé.

Ted sCruz is Bush in drag.
Or maybe distraction from the fact that prissy-Chrissy Matthews made a fool out of Trump on national TV.
You should be wondering what in the world Trump was thinking when he says the top three purposes of government are "security, security, and security" followed by "lots of things" like
"Education"
"Health Care"
"Good Housing"
all of which sound like the communists I saw at the Occupy protests:
That is a strong possibility; put something so unpalatable in a bill that it won’t be passed. Doing your job to protect from bad legislation.
Second bill of rights...for those who PLAY BY THE RULES. Those who do so will achieve those results MOST of the time. I do not object to a “hand up” to those who try and fail through no misbehavior of their own.
Which of these “rights” are in the Constitution?
“he did it to make the bill absurd and the bill failed
No, as a matter of fact, the bill passed overwhelmingly in the Senate, Cruz’s side, and was about to be passed in the House. But enough Representatives got scared and backed away when Cantor was sacked in Virginia, over immigration. Boehner had already scheduled a vote. He waited a day too long.
That poison pill thing is a complete joke. If you check the sources at that time, the only time a poison pill was mentioned was by Cruz and he was complaining that Obama had inserted a poison pill.
which one did I get that mixed up with?
It was one immigration bill...
I am so sick of this election season, I just dont care so much anymore
Exactly right.
You can believe overwhelming evidence and the fact he married a woman whose entire career is based on ideas and policies he is running against, or you can just believe what people tell you because they happen to carry a Bible with them.
Trump is not required to give up his policies and plans so Hillary can take five months to pick them apart and attack him on them at a GE debate.
I don’t get why so many people who follow politics don’t ‘get’ this.
You better believe he will go in to deeper detail, but why waste sound policies and ideas on people like Cruz or Kasich who have no chance of securing the nomination?
Senator Sessions has already said that this piece of legislation was intended as a poisen pill and was successful. As you may recall, the Gang of Eight legislation failed to oass. Senator Cruz’ amendment made the bill unpalatable to the Dems.
This is a repeat of something that was much discussed months ago. If Trump’s camp is bringing this up again, then they are calling Senator Sessions, who has endorsed Trump and worked with Trump extensively, a liar .
I don't know why Sessions came to Cruzs' defense. The amendment was not a poison pill. The amendment was never added to the bill. The bill passed overwhelmingly in the Senate.
Cantor losing his house seat to an unknown amateur (Dave Bratt) over amnesty scared away all the pro-amnesty votes in the House. That is what killed the gang of 8 bill. Ted Cruz had nothing to do with it.
That's an interesting defense -- he's keeping his specifics 'secret' from everyone, including the voters, so the Democrats can't anticipate what he'll say in the debates.
Brilliant! So his weakness (not knowing anything about policy) is his strength!
Perhaps when he runs as a third-party candidate, he can call it the "Know-Nothing Party".*
But enough laughing -- seriously, that doesn't explain why he sounded like a socialist when answering a simple question: What are the top three purposes of government?
As for the idea that only Trump has a chance of being nominated -- not true unless he gets at least 1237 delegates. If he comes up even a few votes short, he's vulnerable at the convention.

I was referring to the Gang of Eight bill. The only immigration bill Cruz and Rubio are associated with.
You’re funny.
I take it you are neither a lawyer nor a business person.
He hasn’t been planning this for years like the other candidates.
He has a broad platform and he knows what he wants to do.
That isn’t going to change.
He will get to the policies of it when he has more information.
It’s called being goal-oriented.
Nor has he been studying the issues for years, or apparently even for hours.. He's been busy with reality TV.
He has a broad platform and he knows what he wants to do.
He has no idea what he's doing, which is why the prissy drunkard Chrissy M made an absolute FOOL out of him. He should have known better, he was obviously unprepared. For contrast, look up Cruz's interview with him -- Cruz dominated. He had M eating out of his hand by the time the interview ended.
Don't get me wrong -- if Trump is the nominee I'll vote for him. But he's looking more like Ross Perot by the day.
Ted lost control of that meme, nobody believes in this magic mystical poison pill crap.
>> It might have been a poison pill.
Quite possible.
Reminds me of Democrats sullying Vet bills with pork, then later complaining the Republicans refuse to support the Vets.
