HARRISBURG, Pa. - Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has won a case in Pennsylvania's highest court that had challenged his eligibility to appear on the state's GOP primary ballot and serve as president.
The state Supreme Court order Thursday upheld a lower-court judge's decision to dismiss the case.
A Pittsburgh resident and registered Republican voter, Carmon Elliott, had argued that Cruz isn't eligible to run for president or to appear on Pennsylvania's April 26 primary ballot because he was born in Canada....

I guess you disagree with the judges.
The original intent was to limit to those loyal to this country. By the Obama example, the legal language has been shown to have failed the original intent. Now we are arguing legal semantics.
You guys said you wanted a ruling. Now that they are showing up, you won’t accept them. Maybe a ruling Jeff really mattered at all...
The New Speak of the New World Order is manifesting all over, and the supporters of Cruz are completely untroubled by it now.
What matters is intent, I am told. From their own actions you can see that there are acceptable circumstances. For themselves that happens to include not having parents born in America. Unless you are saying the Founders were a bunch of scoundrels happy to privilege themselves above others, because they could.
Think about that and think about this: Ted Cruz wins citizenship case in Pennsylvania Supreme Court
GilGil are you not a conservative?
So could I make the same argument that 2 American citizens have a kid in the USA then go live in Saudi for 40 years, is that child eligible to be president?
Yes! The kid is eligible!
Can I ask if Trump was the one born in the situation of Cruz would you be on the same side?

I would not support Trump.
It is my understanding that the natural born rule which originally was two people natural born( born in US) with an offspring natural born (born in US) was designed so that there was a high probability that these people had a strong background of the American culture.
Now that that has been blown up first with Obama, now with Cruz basically anyone can run for president on this planet.
Notice that in this recent decision the court does not specify what kind of citizen one of the parents needs to be as long as they are a US citizen. Someone who comes here to have a child who is first a naturalized citizen can have a natural born child even if the child is born elsewhere.
I came to this country a citizen of France. I became a naturalized citizen. Under this new definition I can go back to France or anywhere and have a child and he will be natural born.
The millions of illegal immigrants here can become naturalized and go back to where they came from and their children would be natural born. Essentially citizenship of the US means nothing anymore except when you have to pay taxes. Now that sounds truly conservative ( hyper sarc).
Bald Face LIE!!!
Though the Declaration of Independence was dated July 4, 1776, it took 13 years to win and confirm this independence on the battle fields. A recognizable new nation called the United States of America, with its own constitution and government was established only in 1783 through the treatry of Paris signed by King George the Third and the representatives of the United States of America.Prior to this date, anyone born in North America, presently known as USA, was actually born in a British Colony, controlled by England and was a citizen of England and pledged allegiance to the British Crown. Thus nine of the forty-three Presidents, who had served as president, were foreign born. These nine foreign born US presidents are listed hereunder:
1. George Washington (1789-1797) was born in 1732, in the British Colony of Virginia, and was a British subject, until the formation of the Government of the United States of America in 1789, when he became its first president.
2. John Adams (1797-1801) was born in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1735.
3. Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809) was born in 1743 in the colony of Virginia.
4. James Madison (1809-1817) was born in 1751 in the colony of Virginia.
5. James Monroe (1817-1825) was born in the colony of Virginia, in 1758.
6. John Quincy Adams (1825-1829) was born in 1767 in the colony of Massachusetts.
7. Andrew Jackson (1829-1837) was born in 1767 in the colony of the Carolinas.
8. Martin Van Buren (1837-1841) was born in 1782 in the colony of New York.
9. William Henry Harrison (1841) was born in 1773 in the colony of of Virginia. He died in office from pneumonia.
The tenth US president, John Tyler (1841-1845) was the First US born president. He was born in March 29, 1790, in the State of Virginia in USA.

Maybe you should run to be a judge and then you can make such decisions.
Conservative judges who believe in going with the Original Intent of the Founders have ruled in Ted Cruz’s favor because of the very first ORIGINAL Naturalization Act of 1790. The first Congress saw fit to exempt from needing naturalization: “...the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond Sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born Citizens: provided, That the right of citizenship shall not descend to persons whose fathers have never been resident in the United States”.

So much for discovery. This silly, inept court apparently did not ask for Raphael’s US birth documents. All anyone has seen are his Canadian birth cert, and mom’s birth cert.
If they had seen his (Sealed) US documents. I think they would expose Raphael as a NaturaliZED US citizen. The judicial branch is as incompetent as the legislative branch..
A couple of really bad assumptions in there.
1. Ted Cruz was a citizen of Canada purely by virtue of Canada's statutory regime, not an NBC, as he had no abiding connection to Canada by descent, a necessary requirement for traditional NBC status. 2. He was also a US Citizen as defined in OUR statutes, the ones that count in this country (we are not Canada and are not bound by their laws). 3. No Federal court will take jurisdiction over the case because they have none, Alan Grayson (the idiot) be damned. 4. Here's what YOU can bet on: Cruz WILL be the nominee, any effort to have him declared ineligible will fail utterly and quickly, and he will go on to be elected and serve as one of the greatest Presidents of our history.
That is correct. They were naturalized, and they knew that to be the case. Hence the constitution was drafted to allow those who were citizens at the time the country was founded to qualify for the office.
However, that inquiry does nothing at all to resolve the meaning of natural born, nor does it resolve the fact that 100% of federal case law precedent that finds persons born abroad to be naturalized. Pellegrini is reported to have said, in open court, that it is possible to be simultaneously naturalized and natural born.
Martin Van Buren was the first president to qualify as a natural born citizen since he was the first president to be born after Independence, the previous seven presidents were born as British subjects.

Why?
Quite right. Cruz is eligible, and so is my daughter, born at RAF Lakenheath in England while I served in the Air Force.
Can't tell if you're joking or smoking.
Ideology before country. No different than communists.
This must make Arnold S. very unhappy.
Actually you are wrong. Canadian law that applied at the time specifically said anybody born in Canada was a Natural Born Citizen of Canada. The law used that term. He was born in Canada so he was a NBC Canadian.
That's part of it, maybe most of it. Another part is to preclude any other country from asserting a claim. The War of 1812 was fought in part over British claims of power over US citizens, who were, according to the British, British citizens because they had British blood in them. As British citizens, they had a duty to fight war for the British, and many were compelled to do so.
That sort of risk could be messy if the US president was part British, e.g., by being born in Britain (but made a US citizen by e.g., Naturalization Act of 1790, or 1795, or 1802, etc.)
Sad to say but Obama has 14 Revolutionary War Patriot ancestors. Teddies mother was an anchor baby for immigrants and she threw it all away to move to Canada to live with, marry and eventually divorce a Cuban Communist from the Canary Islands. Cruz has no skin in the game and is a fake American at best.
