The Hill reported:
“ Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz on Wednesday joked that he would consider backing over rival Donald Trump with his car if chance arose.
Appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Cruz was asked by Kimmel whom he disliked more: President Obama or Trump.
“I dislike Obama’s policies more. Donald is a unique individual,” he said, trailing off to laughter.
“If I were in my car and getting ready to reverse and saw Donald in the backup camera, I’m not confident which pedal I’d push.”
Trump last week launched an attack on Cruz’s wife, Heidi, after an anti-Trump super-PAC used a picture of Trump’s wife, Melania, posing nude in an ad.

Because Trump’s first volley’s are often full of personal attacks. Listen to any of his stump speeches. It’s who Trump is, it’s his character - non presidential.
Not saying that’s bad or good it’s just who Trump is.
Many people like him for it.
Silly joke? - I would have been so much better for Cruz just to say - “Oh let’s not go there” - Wait, he actually brought it up per the video. NOW - Imagine if Trump said it (about Cruz) - All the news media would have had it on “Breaking News”. Then there would be calls to have him apologize and fire someone. So when Cruz says it, it’s ok. Figures !!
