Donald Trump has rescinded his pledge to support the Republican nominee for president.
Asked by moderator Anderson Cooper if he stood by the earlier pledge, Trump said: "No, I don't."
"We'll see who it is," he said during the CNN town hall.
He said he had been treated "unfairly" by the Republican National Committee and the GOP establishment. He said he was unsure whether the Republican establishment was plotting to take the nomination away from him during the convention in Cleveland.
He also said he didn't need Cruz to promise to support him should Trump win the nomination.
"Im not asking for his support," Trump said.
"I don't want his support, I don't need his support, I want him to be comfortable," Trump said, taunting Cruz for dancing around the issue of whether he would support Trump if Trump were the nominee.

He already is.
Cruz and fishface Carly drew about 100 cultists to a rally yesterday.
Cruz should have stuck with Stabby the Klown.
Yeah, bur nobody is going to vote for an installed candidate.
How is that a win?
The uni-party has the same policies different rhetoric, including Cruz. Same trade, immigration, economics, politically correct crap, etc. only difference is planned parenthood funding.
Do tell mrpotatohead where Trump trashed Cruz’s family?
I call you out on that.
Not so.
This modeling job for the magazine was about 16 years ago.....and she and Donald were NOT married at that time.
The GQ mag cover photo gig was shot in London and the photograph itself appeared on its January, 2000 issue.
She and Donald did not marry until January, 2005.

LOL! That line is so dismissive it just diminishes Cruz so easily.
I think you want #36.
Sorry, make that #11.
Ok...I’m old...what the heck is trolling?
So sorry, I will correct it.
agitprop
misinformation
propaganda
chaos
The tools of the Left.
Trump or coup
either way works for me

If anyone has the right to walk away from a pledge with the GOP it is Trump. The GOP has blown a hole in their own head. They deserve nothing but malice.

I think Trump is checkmating the GOPe who have made it no secret that they will try to subvert the people’s vote at a contested convention.
Had the GOPe acted in good faith, this reversal probably wouldn’t be necessary.
I’m not necessarily a Trumpeter or a Cruzer (I would vote for either) but it’s crazy that this party is working towards a complete denial of the will of the people. Such a party deserves exactly zero loyalty.
Exactly!
These Cruz folks should bring their own pooper scoopers with them.
Cruz supporters, the equestrian wing of the political universe. Industrial sized mounds of glory...
That is such a BS post you put up. He is not the one the reniged on the deal. I am so totally sick of you GOPe people. The only thing that gives me satsifaction is how you have been so completely exposed as totally corrupt. The conversation today with three die hard GOP friends is they are dropping their registration as Republican. Enjoy your club, your shrinking club.
Strange words indeed coming from a front-runner poised to win the nomination. Hillary must be comforted by all this.
Good development.
There’s been a massive breach of faith by GOP establishment knuckleheads. Many of us here on FR saw this would happen and wondered how Donald could ever trust these bastards. Surely he has dealt with worse over the course of his career, so it would follow that he would know the type of people he was dealing with.
I think Donald holds out hope too easily, extending the olive branch to those who deserve the harshest form of blackballing.
Just two weeks ago Donald held out the olive branch to Ted Cruz. Now Cruz will flame out and crash so badly that he may be finished in politics for good.
