Facts will be ignored on this forum. Cruz has an election to gum up and he needs this issue and support from his followers to spread the word. Plus, Fields needs this issue. She has a book coming out in June.
IMO, Trump will press charges if the charge against his campaign manager is not dropped. The campaign manager will claim defense of another as a defense. You are allowed to protect someone being attacked who is not the aggressor at that moment, even if you are not private security or law enforcement.
Doesn’t matter to the media which is out in full force to eliminate Trump from the race.

It is amazing to see the contortions of Trump followers regarding this incident. The fact that triggered this entire event is the failure of Lewandowski and, by extension, Trump, to own, from the very beginning, what was a relatively minor incident. This is a non-event had he simply offered a private apology - the right thing to do. But because of hubris, he was unable to do so and the resulting story adjustments of his has outweighed whatever story adjustments Fields has issued.
The fact is he and Trump have “handled” the situation poorly. Trump followers need to stop Lewandowski-ing themselves and own this for what it is - a poorly-managed situation. That ends the story. By not doing that, but continuing to re-configure events, ascribe motives, assail character only serves to keep the whole thing going. History teaches that it’s not so much the crime as it is the cover-up which does the most damage.
Pride is a heckuva thing.
