It is amazing to see the contortions of Trump followers regarding this incident. The fact that triggered this entire event is the failure of Lewandowski and, by extension, Trump, to own, from the very beginning, what was a relatively minor incident. This is a non-event had he simply offered a private apology - the right thing to do. But because of hubris, he was unable to do so and the resulting story adjustments of his has outweighed whatever story adjustments Fields has issued.
The fact is he and Trump have “handled” the situation poorly. Trump followers need to stop Lewandowski-ing themselves and own this for what it is - a poorly-managed situation. That ends the story. By not doing that, but continuing to re-configure events, ascribe motives, assail character only serves to keep the whole thing going. History teaches that it’s not so much the crime as it is the cover-up which does the most damage.

You must be drinking. "Handled poorly". "Re-configuring events". "coverup"? Let's see you back those up. I doubt you even know the timeline here. You're just spouting off and looking for some reason Trump should surrender and kick his guy under the bus. It's battered conservative syndrome as Rush has described. Such folks see incoming and duck, and begin negotiating for it to stop as soon as possible.
Kinda ironic too, I mean that you make accusations without proof. Fields makes an accusation without proof, broadcasts it worldwide, people demand proof, those people are accused of not believing her oh my, proof comes about that she is lying, people check further, they find she is a lunatic and worse, and now FReeper MarDav sees fit to accuse the victim of the hoax - Corey Lewandowski and his boss - of a coverup. Wow.
Trump never even saw the "event" which is clear in all the videos. Lewandowski didn't know who this reporterette was. His tweet showed up only after she and her boyfriend fed the ant-Trump media raw meat. He was obviously blind-sided. He sees an accusation from some putz he never met nor even knew her name. Of course he called her delusional ( which is true unless she is engaging in a conspiracy ). There is nothing to coverup.
Now about this "ascribe motives" and "assail character". Back them up too. You must be a Cruzer because I suddenly feel obliged to ask who's side you are on - this psychotic beyotch or the truth? There is a huge amount of history with her, so easy a caveman or a liberal can understand, but apparently not the Cruzers.
Let's try this ... Cops knock on your door. They arrest your son for battery of some girl he merely crossed paths with a few days back. Meanwhile this girl is firebombing twitter with accusations against your son. You finally get a look at the security footage and see that microsecond of interaction. You find out she has a long past of similar scams. How fast do you toss your kid overboard? Pretty fast I guess, especially if the peanut gallery starts calling for his head.
You see, the truth is that this is a political assassination attempt plain and simple ( see previous post ) and was done successfully to Reagan. The methods may vary but it has even been done to people Cruz allegedly admires like Bush43, Cheney, Libby, Perry, DeLay, dozens more. This is how leftists shoot our guys down without using guns. Now along comes Trump, at least for the moment, bucking the trend, ignoring the pleas to surrender and neutralizing their chief weapon of bullying their target's key people out. Yet Cruzers acting in their narrow self-interests side with the enemy as they do so often these days.
Cruz is not worth your soul my FRiend, and loyalty is not fungible, especially at the first sign of an SJW tactical operation like this. But it's even worse than that.
