Fidel Castro responded Monday to President Barack Obama’s historic trip to Cuba with a long, bristling letter recounting the history of U.S. aggression against Cuba, writing that “we don’t need the empire to give us any presents.”

The 1,500-word letter in state media titled “Brother Obama” was Castro’s first response to the president’s three-day visit last week, in which the American president said he had come to bury the two countries’ history of Cold War hostility. […]

Obama’s visit was intended to build irreversible momentum behind his opening with Cuba and to convince the Cuban people and the Cuban government that a half-century of U.S. attempts to overthrow the Communist government had ended, allowing Cuban to reform its economy and political system without the threat of U.S. interference.

Really? Did it include the part where the USA helped free Cuba from its colonial oppressor Spain in the Spanish-American War?

When Castro seized power in 1959, Cuba was the third wealthiest country in the Americas, behind the US and Canada. No paradise, ruled by dictators, but this dictator in 57 years turned Cuba into the second poorest country in the Americas, just behind Haiti. We need nothing from him, owe nothing to him, and he just spat on this country and its leader for opening up some trade, establishing an embassy, not complaining about his abomidable human rights record, and not demanding the return of cop murderer Joanne Chesimard (now calls herself Assata Shakur or some such made up name).

About a month ago my watch started showing the wrong time. (It needed cleaning)

I'd get up at 5:30 and put it on and it would say 2:15. Or, at lunchtime it would say 8:20. Sometimes it would be within 20 or 30 mintues and think it was getting better, bot of course it wasn't.

I kept putting it on for about three days before finally taking it to the shop. What caused me to do so was my wife saying it was like Obama; it was just there to fill the space on my wrist or give me the impression that something was functional when I really knew it wasn't.

Of course in America's case it's much worse. Keeping the Obama watch on our wrist is causing a serious health wrist.
